Some good stuff here, but I hope they do some 333 SP in Le Mans version, not interested in the one already made or announced...

Thanks. For some reason I always liked the original 333 SP more than the later updated version. Detail and paint is a lot better on the BBR compared to the HW, but that's okay because they're in a different price range. The HW is a fine model on its own. I've got two HWs and still have a Tremonia detailing kit lying around. I'll probably sell those off once I've moved house.

Knowing BBR... it will be two years before they release any of these 1:18's.... That's the down-side to pre-ordering from BBR

Maybe it is a 412P. I haven't bothered to check or look much. I just know it's not a P4.

    Lots of differences between a P3 and a P4.

First of all the body is more different than you see at first glance..
Headlights and nose have different dimensions, and the headlights are a lot bigger.
If you look at the side profile, the "waistline" of the P3 is a straightline across the entire side. The P4 engine cover has longer sides.
Cooling in the front and the bulge in the front outlet in the nose is only P3.
nose intake is different in shape.
    engine and gearbox are different.

The P3 is (in my opinion) the best looking car from the entire P series..

What's your opinion on the tires? They look a bit simplistic to me, compared to the ones on the CMR version. On the other hand, the bodyshape is better on the Tecnomodel, especially around the wheel arches.

Very nice Pedro! Yes probably one of their best. Similar in overall improvements as with their new release of the Aston Martin DP 214 which I have.

The CMR as got the advantage of having the correct yellow tire markings..not sure about the rims..teh BBrs are obviously better, but they don't bother me, they are as you say a bit simplistic but i think they do an ok job. As for the body, this one loks very, very good to me, even the interior looks nice. the Windshield whipers on the CMr look horrible, while in the Tecno they are vrey nicely done. the rear side window curve is a lot more acurate on the tecno that on the CMR, and the rear plate is also much better on the Tecno, even the rear decals are better placed on the Tecno, wich overall is just a more refined model. Of course the Cmr at 100€ is probably better value for money than the Tecno at 185€ but, if you forget the price, i guess the Tecno feels a higher end model and is overall more refined.
I noticed that while the 166mm are still on the shelves and are easy to find, most of the mexicos disapeared fairly quickly..especialy my version and the Phil Hill's..they are already hard to find.

Thanks Marshall, perhaps they are finally "listening" to what collectors are writing on the internet forums!...or since they are a "case" of "hit" and "miss", this was a "Hit"...while the 166 was the "miss"..:)

You're welcome Pedro. Yes, I hope they are listening, but I'm not going to count on that. Time will tell with their next several releases. It should be interesting to see what other models they produce this year and how the accuracy and detail will be.

Replicarz has announced some future releases of 1:18 models, and on their list is the 1949 Le Mans winning 166 MM Barchetta. They don't have the full name as it should be, and as written here. I wonder if they will get this one right or screw it up badly just as they did with their Scarab. Time will tell.....
