I am thinking of purchasing a 2013 458 Italia that has low miles and a color combination I like but lacks LED Steering wheel, lifter, or Bluetooth. Will I miss these things? Do I need the lifter on this car? And will it hurt resale?

I have the LED steering wheel on my 2018 488 Spider, and it is a really nice option. You certainly could live without it, but the dealer highly recommended it both for the fun value AND resale value. I am glad my car has it.

I have a steep lip at the bottom of my driveway, and I would certainly scape my front end without the car lifter. I guess I could put some boards down in the gutter, but having the lifter makes this maneuver a snap. In my first 700 miles, I have not needed the lifter anywhere else. Have been over several large speed bumps without a problem. Again, I probably could live without it, but I am glad I have it on my car.

I have Bluetooth as well, and having it may help resale, but I think totally a personal preference option.

LEDs are important. Never had a 458 or 488 without them. Cars without Carbon LEDs do take longer to sell at resale. I’ve only had lifter once and never used it so never specd it again. Really depends if you have a steep drive where the car will be kept! Bluetooth is a personal choice in my opinion

IMHO, Yes. I love the LED steering wheel. Its not needed but so exciting. The area I'm in I need my lifter. Exiting parking garages, business, or home driveways, present a challenge with a low supercar. My f430 did not have it and some angles encountered, would rub the bottom of the beautiful car. My 458 has it and I swear by it. I understand buying a particular car in your price range though. Goodluck

For me the LED wheel and lifter were on my must have lists for my 18 488GTB...

Many say the lifter is not necessary but I like the extra clearance when needed to keep the front end in pristine shape.

The LED is a must for me as it is a part of the experience and character of the car. When I was looking I would not even consider one without the LED on the wheel or without the carbon seats.

LEDs on the wheel are very important because it is extremely difficult to keep an eye on the rev counter, especially when accelerating hard. It is also difficult to accurately determine the shift points by sound alone in a car that revs so quickly and has a 9000 rpm redline.

The lifter depends on where you live. In my hilly area they are needed, but in flatter areas they are not.

I rarely use bluetooth in a Ferrari.

You could live without all imo.

Dont get it that you dont get BT, does it have a radio . Then BT should be there (in the Harman Kardon media system) !

Whether you like those features or not is your preference. However, the market does value those features, and it reflects very clearly in the resale.

Its a shame we focus so much on resale. If resale were not an issue, then these things likely wouldn't be much of an issue. At stock ride height, the 458 has fairly good ground clearance, but only you know your circumstances. The LEDs would be handy, and I love them as part of Ferrari theater, but Im not sure they are truly necessary. Bluetooth would be nice to have but again, not absolutely necessary. However missing all 3 of these will guarantee you a rough time when it comes time to sell. It won't just be a matter of lowering the price a little. There are many 458s out there so I think you will find buyers balk at these omissions. Just my opinion. Wish it was more positive. I would move on.

For a 458 because of the engine sound you could live without the LEDs, the lifter is not super necessary unless you go up and down huge gradients, and bluetooth can be added in some aftermarket way. Hope this helps ..

And you are getting such a deal on this car for not having all these things you should not worry about resale :)

I'm in the market as well and FWIW the first things i check for in this order are carbon sport seats, LED wheel and lifter.

I would only buy a car with LED ‘s because I’m spoiled and shallow.
Also because they look nice even though I’m not sure what they’re for.

LED steering wheel and suspension lifter are a must. Bluetooth nice but not essential.

If you get a GREAT deal then I wouldnt worry.
You dont need the LED as you easily shift by engine sound alone.
Lift depends on where you are. Never needed it.
    Bluetooth...why...the engine sounds amazing.

But the market values LED so get a deal accordingly or suffer later.

(For me, carbon seats with stripe, led, all carbon interior was mandatory).

Mine has BT and LED wheel. I wouldn’t miss either. However, the market demands them for resale.

As for lifter; car rides high anyway, so you’d have to be driving some very bumpy/steep driveways to need it.

I would say that the LED/Carbon steering wheel is one of my fav options, that I have on my 458 Spider. I also use the Bluetooth every time in the car (with Bovee adaptor).
The lift kit - from what I understand from my dealer, I cannot retrofit this as I don't have adaptive headlights (legal Govt reasons) and I'd require another wiring harness.
On another note - most amazing prestige car Ive ever owned [emoji594]

You could “live” without those options, but as others note, you will have a harder time selling the car later. Unless you plan to keep the car and never sell it, or have a very, very deep pocket and can afford to tie up that much money indefinitely, we all need to think about selling the car at some point.

I, for one, would not buy a car without an LED wheel. The engine revs too quickly and the standard tach is too hard to see to be able to use it to judge when to shift if you are driving hard. You can shift by ear, but it’s not that easy unless you are only driving casually, as the engine sounds like it can rev forever. The LED wheel also makes it much easier to shift before hitting the limiter in a noisy environment, especially when driving briskly.

The lifter option is buyer-geographic or situational dependent. Around here, with speed humps in a lot of places and steep driveways in others, it is a “must” for me. Others in less hilly places wouldn’t care. So, if you get a car without a lifter, your buyer pool would shrink by those who need the lifter. Could be few, could be many, depending on where you are.

I wouldn’t miss BT much, but it does make the car more useable if you need to take calls in the car.

I disagree on led necessity...I find the 458 very easy to distinguish when to shift via sound.

Have had cars with both. Both are completely subjective. LED wheel is nice but not a necessity. Same with lifter. 458 at it's stock ride height is completely fine in 95% of situations, a lifter is not necessarily for regular street driving unless you have a steep driveway or regularly drive over speed bumps.

I've had a 458 with the lifter, bluetooth and LED:s and now have a 458 without the lifter and the LED and bluetooth.
You can skip bluetooth, never used it over the last 3 years.
The lifter I used once over the past 3 years.
The LED imho is just a gimmick which looks cool but not at all necessary, the rev counter works just fine as in all other cars or you can just listen the engine sound.

So GO FOR THE CAR you will def not miss any of these 3 options! :)

I did several times. Not difficult at all. And that’s at big willow, fastest track in the west.
