812 replacement will be hybrid V12, no turbo's as far as I know (thank ****).
Lusso replacement will be hybrid I'm sure, but the engine on that I don't know...hopefully V12 also. The V12 makes the car so desirable to me.

I don't see why there shouldn't be? FF, Lusso both very successful. I don't think the Lusso customers will switch to the SUV, even if it's an attractive car.

As another member posted before there is a Ferrari patent showing an electric supported turbocharger.

I really wonder on this. Would there really be sufficient demand for two not too dissimilar models at this price level, sufficient demand to justify R&D on a new Lusso?

I’m not entirely sure but isn’t the Lusso considered as a rather low performing car concerning sales? I think it is a fantastic vehicle concept and think it’s much more attractive than any approach of SUV. But I don’t like SUVs anyway. But as you said both being offered at the same time might be rather unlikely.

For me the more important question is however what will happen to the V12 engine? It’s hard to imagine that an upcoming SUV will feature a V12. So without the Lusso just the 812 line would remain but is that enough to justify the development of V12s? So they probably have to kill the V12 or implement it in another car. Maybe a V12 mid-engined production car after all.

Most are still going for the V12 in order to get the AWD I assume. How about 812 Superfast, possible to get allocations?

In Germany, a mate of mine bought a lusso (second hand) from the dealer, and bagged himself a late 2019 812. Depends on your dealer I guess. I think there was a lot of hype initially that the 812 was completely sold out based on expected allocations, but the reality might be more encouraging if you are looking for one.

Quick question, is the V12 in the GTC4 Lusso descended from the 550/575 V12 and the 812 V12 descended from the Enzo/599 V12 ?
    Or both from the latter?
    Or both totally different.

Not true, I waited 10 months for my V12 order, I was at the dealer this past weekend roaming around and getting a status on my V12 GTC4Lusso and it was loaded onto the ship Thursday. My rep told me they are watching the orders and if the vehicle is paid in cash they have been getting quick build dates, deposits/financed orders are getting normal order slots & build dates of 90-120 days before they are built. He did tell me that they have put 2 orders for cash/fully pre-paid clients and got ship days of around 90 days. ( Don't shoot the messenger, but that is what I was told)

I'm excited to see my new baby!

This rumor got started when the FUV was announced. Now that we know that there will be NO V12 for the FUV - that it will be a V8 hybrid - the V12 2+2 should be safe. The Lusso V8 is probably gone, though, to be replaced by the FUV. If Ferrari wants to sell a lot of FUV's, they will probably want to price it at or below the Lusso T.

Well that's an interesting take. Most people tend to believe that the V8 Lusso was introduced to phase out the V12. I think this makes some sense. They V8 was introduced after the V12, and is accounting for a very small portion of the sales apparently. Why would Ferrari spend money in R&D to get it to fit in the Lusso, only to remove it from production 3 years later?

These are some things we figured out in the other epically long thread about the FUV. How much sense would it make to sell the Lusso T alongside the FUV with a hybrid V8 for the same money? None. Unless Ferrari can sell the FUV for Portofino money, it's the Lusso T that makes no sense. That's why we think the Lusso T is on the endangered species list. There are still about two years until the FUV begins deliveries, so the Lusso T would have been around for five years. Not an atypical run.

A new V12 2+2 after the FUV appears would make perfect sense, though. The FF/Lusso platform would have had a plenty long run by then.

Congratulations! People at dealerships will say all kinds of things. I don't see how this makes any sense- unless you are saying some people are paying for their cars before taking delivery. If that is so, then the dealership is gaining the benefit of the float. Otherwise, aside from credit approval, it really makes no difference whether you buy with cash or credit- the same money will go to the dealer and on to the manufacturer.

My take is maybe they were not sure about the FUV when they made the decision on the V8 based GTC4. My guess is the vehicle was built for certain markets with very high taxes on large capacity engines. Apparently the taxes can be quite high. So to my thinking, maybe the V12 after taxes was just too expensive in these markets.

An FUV would likely be on a new platform and likely include some form of AWD, so what they've done in the GTC4 V8 wouldn't just carry directly over- but maybe parts of it could?

These are just guesses though. One thing that is nearly certain- we are going to see some very interesting models in the next few years!

You may be right, but that 812 is just too disjointed of a design to be loved long term. Makes a FF look amazing.

Dustman-- I LOL at your comment on the 812--and could not agree more! The 812 just doesn't flow together for me. But My 2016 FF grows more and more on me every day, not only in performance but increasingly in design. It's shape is iconic, its performance is awesome, and its comfort is satisfying. After 14 Ferraris in my auto lifetime, this is the one I want to keep!
