Good thread, thank you. It is high time for testing and the season to start. Away with all that bashing... I am expecting an excellent season. Lots of movement in the mid-field, hopefully a stir-up at the front.
Reasons I'm looking forward to this year: 1) with the oil burn more tightly controlled I expect the engine to all be closer together, particularly in qualifying. I expect Merc to remain to have the best package both for power and reliability, however last year showed that they could be beaten by engines with less power. So high hopes on that 2) How charles Leclerc will do
Add this to the mix for 2018 - The epitome of 'pay driver' asking not to hear those words LOL https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/134395/williams-dont-call-anyone-a-pay-driver
Hopefully we will see Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso and Max all battling at the front on a regular basis. With each of them getting wins....just Vettel getting the most. That would make me ALMOST forget about the Halo's and grid girls.
With the oil clampdown it will be on sheer horsepower for the front two with RedBull in the mix. Mid-field should be interesting too.....Mclaren mixing it with the Force Indias and possibly Redbull. I hope LeClerc beats any of the guys in the Williams....the FW41 looks to be a contender in the mid-field but the drivers are another story. 2018 looks to be probably one of the best years in this hybrid crap era.
I hope so too; have always had a soft spot for Honda road and race cars. But I think this season will be more pain for all their stakeholders. Mercedes and Ferrari have reportedly made huge gains over winter. The three engine max this season alone will be a challenge for Honda, but they will be hugely behind in performance since the others keep finding a lot of power. If they are reliable, the gap will be even wider. So looking forward to McLaren and Renault being more competitive and watching Alonso race. Haven't looked forward to a season this much in a while.
"my pronouns are driver and F1 driver, calling me a pay driver is offensive and I'll complain to whoever will hear me''
Leclerc and Alfa is number 1 TR and Honda is number 2 McLaren and Renault is number 3 Can Vettel beat Hamilton is number 4 Can Ferrari beat Mercedes is number 5 If Alfa punches above its weight it could be the story of the season.
For sure. Regardless of that, I am positive McLaren and Renault will instantly move up the grid and battle for wins. Of course, at the same time my ultimate wish is for Ferrari to win the Championships. Six weeks to Australia . . . .
