I’m new to all of this and although I’m sure this is a common question and has been answered many times in the forum but please indulge my question. I placed an order for a 488 Spider yesterday.I was told by the dealer they have an April or May build slot and think I should get the car in July . Does this seem overly optimistic or do you think it is realistic as far as the time in getting the vehicle ? Thanks .

It depends in what country you're in, but assuming the build slot exists, a wait of around 3-4 months from there is standard. Any custom options/stitching/etc. will add time to the build.
The key is to ensuring that build slot is in place.

the build takes 2-3 weeks, then a month on the water and another 3-4 weeks in port delays and shipping down. figure 90 days from start of build

Don't forget the factory is closed in August so if for some reason your build slot is pushed back better hope it's completed before then.

My order was unchangeable at the end of September and built in November, hit the port during the NJ snow storm but the dealer received it a week later, January 12. I was expecting major delays with the weather at the port and I found out that the cars are not stored outside.

Was told the same for my Spider. Should lock down by end of month, May production, delivery by early July. Clearly spec might also drive longer build depending if you selected a 3 layer paint and/or other custom options.

For which Ferrari? That doesn’t seem right at all. I would definitely talk to your dealer.

You live in Australia, I believe the whole country gets half an allocation per year... Lord Almighty are your Ferrari's expensive, easily double the price of the USA.

Yes I do , Australia . And yes our cars are really expensive compared to the States. Government taxes ! B.S

Mine is $580k AUD or $460K USD only about $70k options

Starting here bare car is $410k USD. Although there is much less depreciation.

Strange thing is the 360 Modena was the price of a house here in Melbourne in my street, now you could buy 2 ,488 GTB's for the price of a house.
