RB ugly car

OMG this is just horrible....

I guess they are trying to hid HALO in all the visual confusion.

Apparently its only for testing and will change when the season starts but it's not a good start. Looks like a bad wrap job.

I like it...of course the livery is just for fun, it will be changed for tehn first test...

 

Long nose on it too. That'll get knocked off pretty easily.

Love the livery. Hate the Halo.

This is just a special edition livery. It will change at Catalunya.

RedBulls RB14 twitter page was lit up. So many loved it, so many want RedBull to keep it.

 

On track the rear ride height makes it looks like they stole the rear axle from an SUV. One wonders if that steep a floor angle, seemingly more radical than last year, does not make it very treacherous when it lets go...and yes the nose seems particularly long and vulnerable, lots of flying carbon fiber instances coming up...

Some really outstanding innovation with this car. The front wishbones are slightly bent at the pickup points inboard the chassis, similar to Mercedes '17. The real innovation is with the sidepods intakes, incredibly small, and the sidepod wings which decrease vortex and direct air around and ultimately above the diffuser. This car is really something. Game on

 

I love the white workbench/tool chests.

In his book Adrian Newey talks about being a fan of the raked stance, so just maybe he's got another big winner here.

 

Lets see how it performs!

 

I like it. Aston Martin on the whole rear wing looks sharp too.

That's a pretty awesome testing livery. Not a fan of matte paint but that looks pretty badass. Hope they revert to gloss for the race paint scheme.

Aren’t they supposed to have increased the rev limit for the 18 season?

 

15k but I doubt they run them to that due to reliability. Probably run them to 13.5 to 14k. It's just a guess. Last year they were supposed to run 12k but only ran them 11 to 11.5k

 

Revert? Red Bull has used matte paint on their race cars' schemes for the past 2 seasons. I'd like if they reverted to gloss, too.

PS one of the reasons this car looks so good is the almost non-existant shark fin.

 

Messy, looks like they have a solution to every potential issue on the car..... shark fin, but only a partial; massive rake; long nose; halo with camouflage paint job. Crikey, at Abu Dhabi with the blue parts of the track, this thing will blend in and with the state of these engines, you won’t hear lil Maxine coming until he flies over your front wheel and charges off down track dragging your wing in his vortex

 

I kind of like it.

 

Is the HALO system ever likely to go away in the future, or are we stuck with it forever?
