Thanks for your helps! I finished nearly everything and still have this curious part !?? Strange. I supposed it in the trunk....
Have you decided about the position of the number plate lights? On bodies 32 to 50 inclusive, ie the US and RHD bodies and 40078, the number plate lights were widely spaced and located entirely above the bumper, whereas on all the others, the LHD European style bodies and RHD 40010, they were located closer together and lower down in the notch on the bumper...
Not until now -I’m unsure how was it original and what a plate I will get at registration. The widely and above located looks better I think.
Your car had US style body fitted with Euro bumpers. The number plate lights were widely spaced and located entirely above the bumper. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/144508003/
40070, originally blue then white now back to blue but for some inexplicable reason they retained the bull badge on the rear panel, only introduced in the 80's...
Oh yes, thanks! And what about the badges? These are correct in position? Without the bull and S probably!?
Yes without the Bull and S and yes they are in the correct position. Also there should be no Urraco badge with high and widely spaced number plate lights which are Alfa type in chrome. An exception is 40076 where for some reason there were both badges similar to some late Urraco. And 40054, the car in the museum, had a US body with euro rear bumpers when new so the high number plate lights and lack of Urraco badge is correct!
There were at least (3) P-300s from the factory with the following license set-up...(later used on the Jalpa)...so some Silhouettes may have had the same ! Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login
I lack images for the rear of 3 Silhouettes but the images of the other 51 do not support your theory...
that's Rein car (great car, i should have bought it when he offered). are your sure it came that way from the factory? his hot motor P300 had many many non factory modifications to it. #20212 here recently (repainted yellow) i believed didnt come this way either. it had the large standard plate lamps i recall ?
here u go ivor... file em at your discretion 40056 ex ultimate yellow here? 40060 ex german exotic rental car latest pic i stumbled upon, unfortunately no rear view 40064 confirmed pic taken by myself best regards
The yellow one is #40072, residing in California just as #40056 ... the only Silhouette for which we've no pictures at all.
Unfortunately the rear panel of 40064 has no holes either for badges or lights. Since it is a US body it is almost certain that the lights were above the bumper but I just don't have a picture to prove it!
