The Mc sour grapes were there long before Pista came about. They aren't likely to go any time soon....even less likely now regardless of how much hp they want to throw at it.
Presentation specifically pointed out that 50 HP gain and it is the biggest jump in HP ever in this segment of cars from the regular production model. Once again; presentation was all about performance and discussion by ferrari race drivers. Not the designers of the car. It seems a big disconnect from the buyers that ferrari wants and the expectations of what people on these forums want...
To my knowledge they gained a lot more than 50 but wound it back. Design OTOH was never an issue for Ferrari unlike Mac where the face and driving experience appears (even on many user/owner accounts) to be the Achilles heel. That problem isn't going away any time soon by look of it.
I can attest to that - Mac (650S) felt truly worrisome at high speed (250km/h +). Speciale truly planted!!
I also found it very un convincing (and not confidence inspiring), as with the rest of their model line up. But then I like to drive my cars hard and have certain expectations. Fragility also being one of my concerns.....along with resale ....which looks to be a nasty experience indeed especially where purchased new. I'm just happy that others have bought them....and find them fabulous!!
If you have ever been to Woking and Maranello, you know where you want your sports car to come from...Nuff said Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry to hear that Shack. I've never heard a good Mc Mac story yet so you're not alone - has introduced a whole new meaning to the term depreciating asset. Few cars see appreciation however the driving and ownership experience usually makes up for any financial shortfall felt. Not so with the good ole Mc Mac, where the ownership and driving experience evidently appears to add to the pain. Aaaanyway....where were we. Ahhh yes Pista. Now that is one fine looking automobile which won't leave you feeling bashed and robbed. Any news on confirmed allocation yet?
How about going straight to the source? http://auto.ferrari.com/en_US/sports-cars-models/car-range/ferrari-488-pista/
Comparing horsepowers is like comparing tits size. Ultimately, you will reach a point where too much is just too much. Do you prefer a well balanced victoria secrete runway model at 33D or a big fake 36 double G stripper? Again, personal preference and there is no right or wrong here. I personally prefer the victoria secrete model
Agree, the HP war is at the point of becoming irrelevant. It all boils down to how the car interacts with the driver to stir the senses and, how all that power becomes part and parcel of the driver interaction. I'm confident Ferrari has found the right balance with this car.
This was at the end of the dealer reveal video. This is what we all spent about an hour watching over and over as a group. Better than the photos.
