When I'm on FChat, I'm here to read and follow threads into various rabbit holes. When I'm on BAT, I'm looking for interesting auctions. Have you considered a rolling bar at the bottom showing thumbnail photo of active auctions with the latest price and comment? Something like the annoying ads we see at various web sites, but this would be a lot more interesting as we all like cars, and would make it easier to draw people into auctions. Just a thought.

The auction format is not user friendly. I can't even tell where the current auction price is at. Clicking on a "current" auction just displays a bunch of posts from the past. Perhaps revamping the system to look something closer to and eBay auction would make more sense.

that's user error, if you are seeing past auctions, you are going to past auctions and not current auctions, if you are seeing discussions that's because you are going to discussions.

it isn't that hard everyone, although I know new for you.

if you want Auctions go to the top big menu item for Auctions.

if you want to see Current auctions go to Current.

If you want to see previous auctions go to Past.

If you want the Discussions about the auctions go the the Auctions subforum or the Discussions menu item under Auctions.

If you want to view the rules and get more information about it go to About.

And if I didn't happen to check a response to this post, I'd have never found it.

You have multiple users telling you the same thing yet you're disagreeing? I'm not sure you want the auctions to succeed if you're not going to listen to your users.

Even if you had a little number on the auction heading that was the number of live auctions, it'd at least draw the eye there and let people know there's an active auction.

If you can't find auctions on the menu, then you really shouldn't be on FerrariChat in first place. I'm not going to develop an elementary design for 10% of our users that are too impatient that hurts the experience for the other 90%.

that's pretty stupid comment. if you were serious about the BB would you bid it first day? smart thing to do would keep you mouth shut, not hint to anyone you were interested, get your due diligence done offline, and then bid it the last minute.

I think you're looking for validation on your decisions, not feedback. In that case, you're doing a great job, keep it up! Love the new site design and the auctions are obviously going well for you!

I can find the auctions perfectly fine, but not having an indicator telling people there's an open auction won't drive any traffic there, as you have found. You're looking for reasons why, more than one has told you. You don't like the answer, fine, but don't shoot the messenger.

Besides, I thought this site was for people that own Ferraris? If that's not good enough and I have to pretend to like your ideas when they're bad, ok. Just don't solicit feedback if you don't want it.

we don't have the attention or bidders yet to start low anymore, it didn't work first two auctions. until then we do have to start auctions closer to wholesale prices.

    1) Auctions are easy to find on the site now.

    2) I've already said those that are looking for more intrusive in your face images current auctions, classifieds, latest Ferrari news, and hot threads are going to get that as under development.

I'm not going to mess up the forum look & feel for a minor part of our community (auctions) when we're developing a page away from the forums that does the type of things asked for.

Users are proposing a Lose - Lose when I have a Win - Win in the works.

Here is literally all my suggestion was, similar to how we're notified we have a PM on our username. You could add a hover over to the number that lists the cars currently on auction to make it even easier for people to see what's there. I don't see how that would screw with the look & feel of anything, but if you think that's too intrusive I guess that's fine.

that's actually a good idea, I didn't catch that before, only suggestion I saw were taking up vertical real estate at the top of forums with big auctions pictures and description.

I'm sorry but I disagree. I consider myself very computer savvy. If it is difficult for me, I can guarantee that it is difficult for the majority of people visiting the page. The page setup needs to be clear, concise and easy to navigate. A good product should adapt to human habits and function and predict how they will interact with he product and not vice versa. For example when I click on "current" thread the first thing that should pop up is the snap shot of the car, the days left and the current bid or starting price. Here is a screen shot of the opening page. None of those stats are showing on the opening shot. If I'm not going to the right page, again, that's is an issue with the ease of navigation of the auction because it's likely buried somewhere else and hard to find.
    Just trying to help.

I also believe the "member" only auction process hurts you bc honestly I've been a member 10 years, have multiple exotics and im not subscribed. I don't even know what the point is of the $15? I would do it if it was just to help keep the site running but there are tons of sponsors & ads and you seem to have multiple exotics so its not an issue old school tipjar donations to keep a site running. So I couldn't even bid on a car in your auction thing unless I pony up $1.25/mo to use this site? BAT doesn't do that.

I've said it before, the $15 is a token and small skin in the game - I think it's smart to require it. It's the point, not the $$$. Rob won't agree, and respect to him and those cool with an auction, but I'm just not a fan. I would rather work with a seller and strike a deal than play games. I have 15-20 guitars - never bought a single one thru action. But, hey, that's just me. Others like it so to each is own.

I looked at that same page earlier today because I remember having looked at the 458 auction and I couldn't see the price. I didn't want to say anything cause I thought maybe I'm an idiot and can't spot it but I'm also pretty computer savvy. The bidding information (price, # of bids, time left, etc.) should be displayed more clearly.
