There are many strong suggested builds. It would be great to include pics, where possible, especially distinguishing between various shades of red. Which red is on the reveal car and is there any silver in the nart stripe?
I'm leaning two ways - either Grigio Scuro with black stripes (and hopefully a red pin stripe to them), or Bianco Fuji w/ the same striping. CF wheels for me are a must - I'm curious how the significant reduction in unsprung weight impacts everything on a car (on a motorcycle, they are night and day changes). Aside from that, the "stock" interior looks perfect. If I go Grigio Scuro when I would add Charcoal inserts to the layout.
Something like this? https://www.google.com/search?q=ferrari+grigio+scuro&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari#imgrc=DotTZfTCAsuq5M:
I first thought that darker colors might not be the way to go as they may not sufficiently highlight the car's contours. However, the stripe creates that effect for any color. so I think a Pista stripe is a must, even though have never bought a striped car https://www.google.com/search?q=ferrari+speciale+grigio+scuro+stripe&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi-msTl-8DZAhWM1lMKHVTSBs4Q_AUIESgB&biw=1024&bih=672#imgrc=3OQWfWTJ2lx1DM: And this one https://www.google.com/search?q=ferrari+speciale+grigio+scuro+stripe&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi-msTl-8DZAhWM1lMKHVTSBs4Q_AUIESgB&biw=1024&bih=672#imgrc=yzuVZibGnmXn_M: But not this far https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=1024&bih=672&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=B6GSWu6ZFcGtzwL7q53ADw&q=ferrari+speciale+black+with+stripe&oq=ferrari+speciale+black+with+stripe&gs_l=mobile-gws-img.3...51304.58241..58918...0....428.3015.15j6j1j1j1..........1..mobile-gws-wiz-img.......35i39j30i10.b7vtmCsa8BU%3D#imgrc=xsEypNzcBcwsdM:
The popularity of striping these cars intrigues me. It’s interesting how so many who would normally never consider striping their others Ferrari’s naturally include this option on VS variants. Rarely do you see anyone include striping on standard mid engine, GT’s or even supercars, yet it’s common on track variants. Is it simply because Ferrari includes striping on their launch cars? No right or wrong answer, just an interesting observation given the norm with other cars.
I have a Rosso Maranello Speciale. I (personally) have not seen a better one, though I am biased of course. Question is, make them twins in terms of colour or venture further afield with the Pista? I will do TM which warrants some imagination but to do a different red might bring.....garage colour clash!!! Haha!
Canna de fucile with carbon everything including wheels, no stripe, Alcantara and carbon inside with red stitching. Dark and menacing all around Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Curious who would spec their Pista without shields like the original Atelier renderings. All of my cars have had shields but for some reason I think this car looks spectacular without them. Also, I feel red calipers are way overdone as you can get them on a standard Hyundai. Standard black looks great and doesn't detracted from the rest of the car.
Pictures of your car on Flickr are amazing, saw your factory delivery thread, one of the nicest Speciales out there. Great spec
Definitely silver, site prevents higher res pictures to load it seems, tried to attach PDF if better Image Unavailable, Please Login
Red outside, probably RC Metallizzatto, without stripes, or an Italian tricolore stripe at best. Would paint the "moustache" in red also. Black alcantara inside with red accents. Most of the CF options, as long as they don't black out the look and of course a steering wheel with LED shift lights. I am torn on the wheels. Really like the standard items and they are better for road use, but the CF ones save a lot of weight.
Stunning 458 you have. Go for the clash, though. Each car has it's own personality and certain colors may look best with the contours of this car. also it's probably 4 years since you ordered the 458. Times change and so do tastes, as yours may have, so I say go for it. Also, curious to know how many of you will spec at atelier. I have been to the factory twice with my wife but considering a father daughter this time
Atelier all the way, such a fantastic experience and by the time we go, might be able to see few/many Pistas there
Yes I’ll be visiting Atelier. Did Atelier for my Speciale and California T and Tailor Made for Tdf. This time Ateler should be enough.
They are referring to the customer design center in Maranello at the factory, though technically every dealer has an Atelier center. I’ve been to the Atelier at the factory. They have all the materials on display and obviously you’re are right there to go see things, but actually the configurator that you work on the build your car is the same In every dealership. What makes it special is the pilgrimage experience and having a factory representative with you and a point of contact as your car is being built, which is special, of course.
Launch spec but maybe aluminium calipers.Thin tricolor replacing blue/black (is anyone sure which colour it is ?) line in stripe. No radio or lifter etc.Fire extinguisher added.Carbon fibre engine bay. Perfect.
And you get to walk on the production line to see some options in real life, can't beat THAT configurator
