Reset to zero?? Doesn't sound like a real problem. Who'd fall for that? OTOH....why?
308 speedos seem to be notoriously unreliable - mine has had numerous replacements BUT I bet I'm the only one who has paperwork from the dealer showing the clock moved FORWARD to an 'estimated correct' mileage after the speedo was replaced (this was in the 80s by the way, when the car was relatively new). I had the speedo repaired by Ottos last year, and the sender replaced but it's still very optimistic past 60mph. I drive by the tacho generally.
Normally no benefit because the service history would contradict the odometer. (For newby Ferrari buyers, NEVER buy a car without service history, walk away regardless of the excuses) However I am noticing a trend with UK and US auctions for cars with ridiculously low mileages, quite often less than 1000 miles or kms. Not hard to imagine that if you reset the mileage before the 1st service is due, there would never need to be a stamp in the book, you could claim that the car has delivery mileage only, no matter how much you used it. btw the bloke who runs the workshop I rent space in, showed me his new SD computer thing the other day (he does a fair bit of Lamborghini work) and it can perform all the functions of the Ferrari factory unit. Obviously the software has been pirated. So no comfort in Ferrari removing the reset capability.

355. Isn't the thing you've all been bangin' on about a 348? https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ferrari-348-1991/SSE-AD-5293255/?Cr=0
No it's the 355 that appeared on carsales and sold straight away until the buyers figured out it was a left Hooker that was converted.......
