I've tried 3 continents and have run out of ideas. I'm trying to find a 30mm spacer to complete an exhaust installation. Ferrari's part # is 159937. If anyone in the world has an idea of where this part may be, besides someone else's 2.7 f355, please let me know. Ferrari no longer makes it, none of the dealers have it or can source it, no luck with resuppliers yet from Eurospares to Ferrparts and in between.
If anyone can machine one, I'll be happy to pay them. The person who does so will have a fair market cornered; one dealer close to me said they've had about 10 inquiries in the past month. Thanks for any direction.

I do believe that's the one, although I've never seen it "live". Between the y pipe and the bypass valve. Kinda' makes me want to reach in the screen and grab it! ;)

It was on my 2.7 car but it was to replace/eliminate the bypass valve, not to be used with it.

    What is your exhaust setup?

JC, I got your message. Unfortunately the part I have is not what you need. There is a shorter spacer for use with the bypass valve.

So your exhaust is too short? A spacer is used with a 2.7 car but all F355 mufflers are interchangeable with the only difference being whether or not it has a bung in the top for the bypass thermocouple. (there aren't shorter/longer bypass inlets on mufflers for 2.7/5.2 cars).

Yes sir, I did. I appreciate the suggestion, though. Btw, the fella' in Mass whose spider I bought seems to know you rather well.

There comes a time when it is easier to just have a part fabricated for a car than to search world wide for a NLA part.

5 minutes on a lathe and 10 minutes on a TIG could produce that part.

I might have one if you can wait a few days to check on it.

Thought I'd respond to both James and Mitch's posts. James, my tech agrees with you and is considering if the (new) cats are part of the problem. So your input has been very valuable and much appreciated.
Mitch, good advice, and the necessary part, which we've briefly appropriated from another car, is going to a machine shop Monday to be duped. If it turns out that I don't need it, at least a few will exist for the 2.7 group.

I always feel both smarter (for having gained wisdom) and dumber (for having none at origin) when I post here! :)

Bob, thank you for checking. I'm going to either have a solution or a new exhaust by Tuesday morning! As the current setup is at the shop and ready,I'm hoping for the former. Btw, I've avoided mentioning brands as the sellers rep has been helpful and communicative, as well as offering to reimburse me for the system if necessary. So no complaint. As this isn't my first f355 spider, it's not my first parts crisis!

Possible, just new main cats or new y-pipe as well?

If the cats are too long you may be able to slide the rear v-band clamps on further, bringing the muffler closer to the engine.

I would be comparing parts new to old to see which one is off.

Tech is measuring cats in the AM, he said he's adjusted them as far as he can and is wondering if the length could be the problem.
I'll know more tomorrow afternoon and will report back. It should be interesting to see how it works out.
Thank you all for the input so far. This group is a resource that's invaluable in caring for these cars. Guess that's why I've been here so many years.

JC, just thought of someone; try Motion Products (ask for Pat) in Wisconsin, 920-725-4688. They have literally made parts for us in the past and we couldn't of been happier with the quality. I know you don't have the part in hand but they may have made it before so a template might exist. Tell them I sent you.

FYI - I'm still looking too!

Hi Jeremy! For those of you who haven't called Jeremy @ Continental for parts needs, you should! As you can tell, after he discovered that Ferrari no longer made this part, rather than saying "thanks for calling, bye" as anyone would have, he's still chasing it down for me. Pretty rare service, I'd say.

If you referring to me that would be weird because I don't know anyone with a black spider.

But yes, could be a problem with the new cats. What brand are they? When I put Nouvalari cats on my car the tube coming out the rear had to be cut to the correct length. Otherwise they were pushing the muffler back and nothing would align correctly. Had to cut about 1" off them. For your reference, here is a picture showing the length of the OE cats, 16" from the front most point to the rear edge of the exit tube.

Hi John, your suggestion is incredibly interesting as those are exactly whose cats I purchased, as well as the problem I'm having. As I mentioned last evening, the cats are being measured this morning. Thank you so much for letting me know about your experience.
And the owner has a 360 now, which he's had for a bit. I'll pm you as to who it is.

Sounds like good news for the OP. Cutting the cats shorter sounds like an easier solution than an upper spacer. Plus his bumper will go back on :D

I believe I have the same part, removed and replaced with Capristo bypass valve. It's 70 mm in length.

Just got the verdict; as Johnk and INTMD8 suggested the cats are too long by about 40mm. They'll be cut down Monday and hopefully everything will be fitted next week (and the de-stickied vents and steering column surround and the cf door sills and the passenger footwell plate and on ad infinitum!)
Your input really helped speed this along and I truly appreciate it.
