Which particular red is the launch car pictured in - is it Rosso Corsa?

Hard to say, but it looks to have a touch more orange in it than Rosso Corsa. Possibly Rosso Scuderia.

I believe many people stick to the launch spec just for the sake of it. Or, for the sake of resale but actually because they believe the majority of 2nd hand buyers will be attracted to launch spec better. Anyway, launch spec attracts people, no doubt it has great influence. Say Ferrari want to push an unusual colour choice, show a new car with that colour and the interest immediately grows.

Oddly enough, these configurator images show a no-shields car, you already have people saying it looks magnificent like that. Don't be surprised if there's an increase in no-shields specs just because of this.

To all those fans of the launch spec, remember at least that calipers are NOT yellow ;)

I don't think the stripe visually adds anything anymore, it's played out IMO after so many iterations. Furthermore, the haunch or incline in the front hood really needs to be visually softened, I believe the stripe contributes to stress the busy-ness of that area instead. If you're a fan of the stripe anyway, please consider at least deleting the frontmost part that peeks out in the lower lip. Still better than full stripe.

Configurator images are irrelevant. All sorts of options can be added. The car on the F official website (same as in the press) are all "shielded"

Stripe is common among this LE class of car. For good reason. It adds the drama this car deserves. The more dramatic the contours of the car, the better the stripe highlights those features. In particular, is the stripe under the front bumper. It highlights the aerodynamic features of the front spoiler, tracing the airflow to the hood and connecting the two, as intended by Ferrari's keystone design feature.

Can you tell I'm excited about this car. I've never owned a striped car but I am pulling the trigger on this one.

Shields were an option. You paid to add them. The radio was the big issue and one person got a Speciale with radio delete while everyone else got it if they wanted it or not.

CDF + red stripes is always a stunning combo. Cannot go wrong with that.

I'm torn on the the carbon wheels. From the Pista thread, it sounds like the weight saving relative to the forged wheels is about 15kg. They are stiffer and save unsprung weight, but not sure whether they'll be worth the cost/hassle of the inevitable repair. How many of you are going for carbon?

Initially the carbon wheels looked like they were "mandatory" - to fulfill the spirit of the car. But eventually I think I will go without them; lightly scratching a wheel may happen and with carbon I'm afraid it would be a disaster...

I'm out for CF wheels. too risky and pricey. I'm not tracking the car, so why.

To me, it’s all about what looks best. Given that, I need to wait and see what the real rims look like (not the crude animated image in the video). I couldn’t care less about the weight issue. I don’t track my cars. So, if they look incredible and the color of them compliment the rest of the car, then yes, though I’ll likely be surprised if they will appeal to me.

Out too, too much potential hassle. Standard in Matt Grigio or black will do nicely

I thought I read somewhere that they would be painted like normal wheels.

They might offer various paint colors but the launch video shows gloss carbon finish. Seemingly the Geneva car has CF wheels so we should see plenty of real life pictures next week
