Well, after almost 18 months of planning and logistics, we made it to Maui and back! ( Cars are all safe and sound on the way back to us as well ) Day 1: Drive to Red Hill then to Kula Lodge for Brunch. https://goo.gl/maps/YH24aZGDkqC2 With the weather being overcast and we were in the clouds ( Literally at the summit ) we were able to take a detour to a well known Maui resident's estate to stage of all the Ferrari's for photos , meeting some local enthusiasts , as well as drinks, snacks, and fun conversations! Day 2: Drive to Hana on the road FROM Hana for lunch at the Ranch https://goo.gl/maps/K47nn6aC6yN2 Photos here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/maui-road-from-hana-closure.569418/ Day 3: Drive to Merriman's Maui for a private lunch via Julia's Banana Bread Stand https://goo.gl/maps/cnMbdeKREjw Day 4: Drive to Maui Wine for a wine tasting and lunch at the General Store https://goo.gl/maps/bum9gQWzdAA2 No one went over the side of the cliffs, no police interaction at all, and we met a bunch of friendly people along the way! Thank you to Maui for having us. Photo's to follow!
Day 1 Arrival Feb 14th Weather radar made it seem like we were in for a lot of rain! ( We were ! ) Once we arrived at the port, we were greeted by an amazing rainbow... setting the mode for the entire event. All the cars arrived and were stored inside the warehouse until being moved over to the Four Seasons and secured inside their parking garage. Drive Day 2 / Drive up to Red Hill The morning was nice, overcast, but no rain! We took the drive up and to the summit, as we were nearing the park entrance, I was noticing that while we usually pass through the clouds on the way UP , were just nearing the underside of the clouds... which translated to absolutely no view at all at the top! We came back down, grabbed a few shots at the park rangers office and headed down for brunch at the Kula Lodge! Great views, good food, and they even set the front parking spots aside for us! After that a quick stop at a local estate for great conversation and more amazing views hidden away from the casual tourist eyes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Day 3 drive to Hana, the back way, lunch, and back to the Four Seasons again! Since it was raining off and on with a forecast of rain throughout the day, the only thing we could do was have a dirty jeep contest! Every mud puddle and water hole was driven through the entire way to Hana and then some! Julia Banana Bread Drive After passing by Julia's several times both last visit and this time, it only made sense to ask her and a few local kids if they would pass out some banana bread as the group passed through! Last but not least... HOW does one get a group of Ferrari's from the mainland to Maui? A floating parking garage ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What an amazing adventure! What shipping company is that? I don't recognize the Euro Spirit. How many cars did you bring over? I can't quite count them all -- it looks like 6 or 8, perhaps? Very impressive!
My 360 Spider, here on Oahu, came from Boardwalk Ferrari in Plano! I still have the window sticker with your company listed as the dealer (Ferrari of Dallas was the name at the time, I think, but the address in Plano is the same). I'm an SMU grad, but have lived in Hawaii for the past 30 years. I'm glad you had a good trip. It sounds wonderful.
This is honestly the coolest in the “who the **** would ever consider organizing this” way. SAFE4NOW is who! Congrats on pulling it off.
Thank you! Now we just need to figure out how to top this one! Maybe a rally to the " Lay Compound"..... S
yep, for the Ferrari and Maserati SUV's! might be the first of either to go offroad! actually, I think we could seriously work something out. Have a 4 mile 4x4 course on the land already, some good twisty roads in area, 4x4 park over by Ardmore, and then stay at the lodge with some shooting/kayak/Indian artifact hunting activities. The meat hunters can also go for a hog. Image Unavailable, Please Login
