    Hi Ric:I did this very conversion in 2015. I have a 1990 T, Red/tan.
I'm very happy with the new look.
Look for my postings and you will see some pix and details.
I used a GAHH carpet kit at the recommendation of my independent. He said it was the best replacement brand available. There were 2 options on the GAHH kit at that time. One with leather finished edges and one with vinyl finished edges. It was almost $1000 more for the leather.
I choose to get the vinyl as you only see the finished edges in a few locations.
One caution; there are 14 separate pieces of carpet. They are each hand fit and glued into place.
Ripping out the old carpet is difficult and the install is not an easy job either.
I had my independent do the work. When he was finished he said he would never do a Mondial carpet install again. He under bid the job by a lot.
When we laid out the old tan carpet on the shop floor after it was removed I was amazed how faded and dirty the tan had got, and I kept the car super clean. Tossed it in the garbage.
Here are some teaser pix. Before and after>

GAHH kits are probably the way to go. An upholshtery shop could make you up a custom set for less but it'll become an issue at resale. I did my own carpet in an ex 308. Was very happy with the result and cost, my buyer didn't car but some do.
