Vettel must be a lil bit concerned,Ricci would be a serious challenger, but would not go there a a No2 driver.

Agree'd. That wont be in the contract. Vettel is simply not that good vs Daniel.

I'd imagine after Vettel's total mental breakdown last season Ferrari is seriously considering him to replace Kimi (who's been overdue for retirement for a number of years). They'd probably also love to have an italian origin driver named Ricciardo with no italian national driver in sight.

Ricciardo is no fool; he probably realizes that only a works engine/chassis team can win a championship in today's formula. Renault won't be able to challenge Merc or Ferrari since their budget is about 75-80% of them, and Honda will never come close to matching Merc or Ferrari should RB go for a works relationship.

My guess is Ferrari will try to get him, but first preference for any driver would always be Merc so everything probably depends on Bottas.

Sad but true, he’ll be at ferrari to replace Vettel, with leclerc alongside, or at Mercedes when elton hangs up his stockings and suspenders

I want him at Ferrari but can't see it happening with Vettel there. That said, if Vettel makes a few bad mistakes like last year, Ric may be forced upon him (if that's smart I do not know).

He's a top driver IMO and will be in demand.

I, too. would like to see him at Ferrari. Seb won't like it, and Danny won't like being 2nd banana. However, the same could be said at Merc and RB. It is a pity that RB is backing Max instead of Danny. Max has mad skills, but needs time to mature and gain sensibility. Without that maturity and sensibility, his longevity in F1 would be shortened. Danny is the more well rounded driver with his combination of skills, maturity and sensibility.

If I had to choose between Ferrari and Merc, I think he will go to Ferrari. Kimi is quite mature for an F1 driver and Seb seems to have had an influx of brain farts. Definitely not the WDC Seb of RB. At Merc, Ham would probably welcome him as he did Bottas, but if you start beating him, there will be no peace in that camp. Dieter, Toto, and Niki know that.

If Ricciardo went to Ferrari he would have to learn how to pronounce his name properly. It is “Rich CHiardo”. Not Ricardo.

Would love to see Ricci at Ferrari, they have to re think their No1/ No2 driver strategy, let him race Vettel on even terms.

If Vettel doesn't like it too bad ...plenty of talent out their who would give their right arm to drive for the Scuderia.

Tension in Red Bull driver line up says Wurz

Alex Wurz says he detects "tension" between Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen.

Comparing Red Bull's line up with those of the other two top teams, the former driver and GPDA boss said Ricciardo and Verstappen are the most explosive.

"At Ferrari there is a clear division of roles," the Austrian told Speed Week.

"At Mercedes, it will be very difficult for Bottas to beat Hamilton. But at Red Bull, everything is much more open.

"It's impossible to say how the rivalry will develop, but it will be extremely interesting. There is tension in the air," Wurz added.

As for Ferrari's line up, Wurz thinks it's possible that Kimi Raikkonen will remain beyond his 2018 contract.

"I wonder how many lives he has," he said.

"They say a cat has nine lives, but Kimi probably has 12 or something.

"At the end of the day the stopwatch doesn't know the driver's age, so if Ferrari is convinced that they are achieving the maximum results with this line up, then he can stay after 2018," Wurz added.

Hopefully that tension will result in both drivers being more aggressive than ever.

Daniel wants to prove he’s the veteran and better driver...Max wants to make his mark.

    Could get exciting!

Ricci has no choice but to stay at RB for now. He's not in the same league as Max, Vet or Ham. If Ham leave Merc or Vey leaves Ferrari, then those seats might be options. Max isn't going anywhere but if Vet leaves Ferrari, then he could end up there which would leave Ricci as number 1 driver at RB. The other, slightly left field, option is McLaren if Alonso leaves. No other teams have a car capable of winning the WDC so why should he leave RB for any of them.

So seems like Kimi is key again to the driver market moves in 2019.

Both Kimi and Bottas, since they are not signed for 2019 yet, also Hamilton, but why would he leave?

i think if he stays at RB he will be second to max but if he goes to Merc he beats Hammy and he would probably beat Seb too at Ferrari.RB's strength is its drivers.

Doubt it. No idea why Vet would support that.
