    Hi,

Swiss plates (Berne) anybody know the vin? Really, really great looking car that way. Also shows well what the hood (top) should look like when erected. Nice!

a friend of mine raced a Daytona at the Rolex back in the late 70's and early 80's. they had mechanical issues the first outing but then finished the next year. The driver was actor Bobby Carradine. He teamed with EFR and another guy.

Could this Daytona Spyder be *16891* a when new black on tan GTS?

It may be, but I think the black spyder's interior is darker than tan in both old and new photos, if you compare it against the tan of the red coupe next to it in the last photo you can see its quite a bit darker.

then the black Daytona Spyder could be *15417* from 1972. Restored since then so this current picture is not too relevant for colors...

Bernie that plexi car reminds me of a Quebec Daytona coupe. Maybe you can ask Rejean Houle what the serial number was for his plexi 1970 365 GTB/4 coupe? Famous Montreal hockey player so he should not be too hard to find!
I think he was living in Warwick Quebec when the picture was taken.

Ummmmm....I don't exactly frequent the circles of the upper echelons of the Montreal Canadiens organization. ;) So the likelyhood of me crossing paths with Rejean Houle is as slim as the Habs winning the cup this year.

If anything, that info is buried deep in Luigi Della Grotta's archives.

Bernie then the archives sounds like a good place to start!

Here is another Canadian Ferrari Daytona coupe that was privately imported into Toronto Canada. The pictures were taken at Grand Touring in 1974.
Another plexi euro spec S1 version 365 GTB/4 with wood steering wheel and no headrest seats. Also the white/orange instead of solid orange corner lights. Exterior mirror added unlike the Rejean Houle Daytona with no mirror.

I talked to the owner years ago but it was just a car he liked to drive fast! He traded the Ferrari in for a different car and had no idea where it went after that . No serial number known for this blue Daytona either...

Post #1042 fourth picture shows a silver 1971 365 GTC/4 convertible! The factory didn't build any of those...

How funny, I always look back on these old photos and look to see what's in the background. In the Boxer thread, Ill probably post the Boxer photos I took at the same time. I'll probably scan those later today.

... and still wearing same colors today. Still original Blu Scuro painted at Scagliettis in '72, Rosso "Sangue(?)" added (I'm told) in '76.

P.S. This too suffered "fuel smell in the trunk" issues along with several other manufacturing "defects" when I first met "her" 12-13 years ago. All fixed since.

NO WAY!!! Is that the same car? Wow, how cool is that! I think my photo was taken at the 76 gas station on PCH & Bayside (Gas Station still exists today).
Interesting about the Fuel smell situation. I'm just replacing hoses that are old. Hopefully thru trial and error I'll get to the bottom of it.

Yeah, pretty sure it's the same car, being it was sold new by H.S.C. and has lived in LA/SoCal area ever since. And not the only Daytona I've encountered/fixed "the fuel smell" issue on.
If I were you, I'd plan to not only replace all fuel delivery hoses, but all balance/breather/evap./return/etc hoses, fuel cap & sending unit seals, (if a U.S.-delivery car,) check, service or replace emissions control components like the 3-way check valve & liquid/vapor separator, pull & check the tanks for cracks and possibly prepare to replace all or some of the trunk carpeting, insulation & upholstery wool materials as those might've become "saturated" over time with fuel fumes or spillage (yes, I've seen it all).

P.S. I'd be interested in any copies (prints), including the one you posted, you may have of this car from back then.
