I believe Barry that the V12 engines will continuo equipping for a long time the Ferrari GT future models for the simple reason that there is a market who wants them and Ferrari without this specific engine will loose charisma being like all the rest of the sports car manufacturers. In future GT models the V12 hybrid motorization is inevitable but the important thing is that it preserves the ICE as the main power source. Someone who is a professional circuit race driver once told me that when he drove the La Ferrari for the first time and put the pedal down had the unique sensation of acceleration that made him believe that the rear axle was going to come off and the back wheels overtake the front wheels. I just mention this episode again not to be repetitive but to enhance the fact that a mild hybrid Ferrari future GT model like the La Ferrari might not be a bad thing since it will preserve the V12 engine as the main power source, with it's immediate response and great sound, and has the HY-KERS providing in a discrete and unnoticeable manner short bursts of extra power whenever needed.

Since there is only one hybrid Ferrari and that one is a V12, we can safely assume that he was referring to the outcry against hybridisation, not the demise of the V12.

When asked whether alternative drivetrains can truly replace Ferrari's V12 tradition:
You haven’t driven a Ferrari hybrid. Drive one and let me know if you miss your 12 cylinder [...] We haven’t kissed off combustion purely. Let’s just be honest. I think there are some [future] vehicles that will be internal combustion. Hopefully one of them will be visible this year.

Make of it what you will...

I'd be willing to bet that they role a variant of the LaF power unit into the next 12 cyl production car.

What a great interview, his is perfect for Ferrari (right now) - sharp and shrewd all in the one sweep. Pretty amazing for a guy that literally wears the same dang thing each time I see him.

Steve Jobs. His wife said when he found a black turtleneck he liked, he'd by a dozen of them. And, of course, the jeans.

More stylish than Sergio, which should shame an Italian. :)

IMO They're done with LaF. Next hybrid V12 will be the 812 replacement and probably faster than LaF o_O

If they use the 6.5 liter with tweaks, modern more powerful and quicker spinning electrics for the hybrid, lower gearing with stronger DCT, the newer brakes, comparable active aero above and below, 4WS with the correct tune, and all CF panels except the tub, plus the one more enhancement they always add, then some true LE version of the 812 replacement would be right there. The math would work out and the time would be politically correct. Of course, most would go to LaF owners.

Hard to see. I would rather say no. Maybe it's more due to lightning.
