Hi, I am the happy owner of a Maserati Gransport with some modifications and a Audi R8. After a few years with my cars I am thinking is time to sell these babies and go for a 599, is a powerful and lovely car. I have the opportunity to buy one in my city but I am not very sure about it. I found pics and info on internet about it (chassis 147548) and maybe is not a good deal. This is how looks like right now, https://www.advantage-cars.cz/en/car/ferrari-599-2007-v12-gtb-fiorano/ And this years ago, 147548 | Ferrari - Lamborghini Register Nederland Some one can give me more info about this car? The "production" car doesn´t have front parking sensors, also the front grill looks cheap in the actuality. The car is painted so bad because is not a complete change of color, you can see the original color when open the doors, trunk, etc... . Do you think this car could have had an accident? Thank you in advance for your replys . (Sorry for my bad english)
The matte finish paint is not original from the pictures you share. Also the wheels have been changed to so possibly an accident in the past would justify these change. The car has a lot of power and is somewhat traction limited so it can 'get away from the driver' quite easily. Try to find an original paint color 599 and a model year 2008 or later. Note the oil filled shocks the 599 uses can over time leak. Rubber components on older cars need replacing to. You might also consider the more modern Ferrari FF that has a better transmission more power yet better traction especially in the wet. The only real negative is the shooting brake 2 + 2 design that is not universally popular. The older build (compared to the FF) 599 models are starting to show their age now. Happy Hunting!
Is it a wrap or some kind of flat respray ? Do they have a Carfax equivalent in CZ ? Perhaps the dealers can give you more info on the car. Also note the car has steel brakes. Not a deal killer just something to note. IMO its always better to get the car you want than the cheapest car you can afford. I always say buy the car not the color. The one exception is Ferrari; RED
Thank you for your replies guys. I already canceled the purchase and I going to take the summer to looking for a +2008 599 with CCM brakes. I don´t want to take a bad decision.
Maybe ask the service manager of your local Ferrari dealership if he knows of any 599 models possibly for sale. He will see all the 599 models that his dealership sold/serviced and will know the car's owners to. Maybe a Ferrari club would be another possible source to talk to about the 599 market? Good Luck with your search!
Hi again, After too much time I finally got a 599 HGTE! The car has arrived from Germany this week and I went yesterday to the dealer to see it. I am very excited and nervous waiting the day I can ride it for first time. The car is a 2010 with 56.000 kms, I know there are cars with less kilometers but also with more, same range prices and not a HGTE. I taked some bad pictures before I can make better pics in a sunny day. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Bad news are when I start up it, I notice a strange noise that comes form the passenger side, below the glovebox. You need to up the volumen to heard it. Someone can give me any idea what can be that? Thank you in advance.
I’ve owned a lot of cars in my life. My 2008 R8, 8cyl, stick, was without question or doubt, the best car I ever owned. Think twice before you give yours up. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Ferraris. But I suggest you spend a lot of time on an extended test drive (a few days) with that 599 before you buy it. The F1 in that car is one that you have to make sure that you like.
Is this car represented as a factory HGTE, or dealer installed upgrade? Badge does not match my factory HGTE. I've never seen them that color. They are probably aftermarket. Need more pictures. Do seats have HGTE model stitching? Make sure you review the service records. I would be cautious about buying...
Looks like a factory HGTE to me (from the seats and white tach). Also, seems you already purchased the car? If so congratulations but still make sure you have it inspected so you can fix anything it might have.
The GranSport and the r8 already gone months ago... I understand what you want to said. The r8 is a fast car, good brakes, perfect balance... but not too much exciting, I prefer my old Maserati GranSport (with Larini exhaust, FD springs, DBW, etc...) that is slowest but make me more happy.
Yes, is a factory HGTE, VIN 172974. You can see the HGTE stitching in the video. Thank you flat_plane_eddie, yes I bought it but I talk to the seller that I want to take the car to the official service to make sure the car is in good condition, without disgusting surprises. The last service was in a Ferrari official service at 51.000 kms and got the front suspension changed, also the brake pads and the clutch is at 50% life. Before the car come from Germany, they make a new oil change. The only bad thing I can find is that noise... .
I’m not an expert but does that sound seem like it’s coming from inside or out? Might be a loose bolt letting something vibrate. Hopefully your dealer inspecting it can track it down.
Hello BTX, You are not wrong. The exhaust are aftermarket and without valve (Tubi I think) and don´t have the original HGTE... for that reason I got a little discount. I can´t understand why the last owner change the HGTE OEM exhaust. I will looking for the OEM exhaust or maybe installing the 6 into 1 option if can be build with a HGTE tips. Yes, wheels are resprayed. For my taste the car looks fine whit that color.
Thank you, @tazandjan . Also want to lowering the car a little and add wheel spacers. I read in some threads that the best quality wheel spacers are the Hill Engieering, why are it better than others. Is a major question because of my old GranSport has wheel spacers (hub centric) and at speeds over 160km/h have vibrations.
Sorry Tridentity but I think it is not a factory hgte but as suggested, aftermarket modifications. Where are you based by the way ? I made a small research and I found your car before to be German was French and if you look at pictures two years ago and more, you will see no hgte grid, no hgte exhaust VIN 172974 in France : http://www.ferrari-world.be/chassis%20599%20gtb.htm and the car spotted with already horse in black and painted wheels : https://www.autogespot.fr/spots?licenseplate=AP096VT&brand=Ferrari&type=599+GTB+Fiorano
Hello @Zaza , I already saw this pics before buy the car, the pictures from autogespot are from 2014, time enough (4 years) for the france owner to be borred about to see the car day after day in his original condition or maybe he crash the car... I don´t know! Also saw the other link, to be honest the only thing I can distinguish from the micro picture is the HGTE wheels in silver and the not carbon fiber scuderia shields. The only I can say is that I contact with Santogal (Ferrari dealer in Madrid) and GT Stradale (specialist in Ferrari and Maserati, also an authorizer Ferrari Classiche service http://www2.ferrariclubespana.com/ferrari_classiche.html ) before I purchase the car and both said that is a factory HGTE. At least, is the first factory HGTE that you see with painted wheels? Aero kits? Yellow tach? aftermarket exhaust or wheels? Maybe do you think the france owner is bankrup after try to upgrade a 599 GTB with white tach, HGTE wheels, aftermarket exhaust, HGTE suspensions (springs, anti-roll bar and suspension control unit), HGTE full carbon seats, full carbon interior (above the radio and f1, reverse, etc console), alcantara/carbon doors, alcantara steering wheel, etc and he don´t have money enough for the front grill? Any way I not going to fight whit the ones that think is not a factory HGTE. I am happy with the car and only try to know more about some things like the noise you can hear in the video or wheel spacers.
The important thing is to give some care to this beautiful 599. The 599 is such a sculpture, even today. Identify the source of the noise (sounds like an untied protection shield?) , fix it and enjoy the car. If the OP has any doubts about the car, or simply wants to know more about it, he can register at my.ferrari.com For sure all factory options will be listed there.
Hi Tridentity Beautiful car Since we both live in Madrid now, I would be more than happy to see your beast physically PM and lets meet when it stops raining ! Fernando
