Has anyone seen the final version of the Looksmart Ferrari 312 T3 1/18 version? I would like to add it my collection, but have not seen the quality of the Looksmart models first hand.

Thank you, I had seen the picture online and was led to believe that they would be shipping after February. I have never owned a Looksmart version, how does the quality compare to say Exoto or BBR?

In my opinion the Looksmart quality is consistent and comparable to BBR. However, sometimes the shapes can be a bit off. I've made a comparison between the Looksmart and BBR 288 GTO: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1-18-288-gto-looksmart-vs-bbr.543074/
I'm very happy with my Looksmart models such as the GTO Evoluzione, 126CK and 158F1.

Just like GMP they made a mistake with the front wheel wells on the 312P. They're too long for this early model.

That aside, I'm not a fan of Technomodel. Shapes are fine, but to me there's a lack of detail to justify the price. Especially lacking suspension detail. Others on here are satisfied though and I'm sure they will chime in.

The shape of the Tecnomodel's are usualy ok, but they lack some detail, especialy in the interior. But i think they display very well. Theirs 312pb are nice, but of course, the GMP are better, but again they don't have that specific version.
Agaisn the 330 pb as got a nice shape but they lack rivet detail, fot that reason alone i would prefer the GP replicas version (again if you could get a GMP version it would be even better). Tecnomodel's don't came with display cases, and they dont sell them, they do come atacched to a base, you would have to buy a case from other source to display the model.

Some things get better with age, but NOT most new releases from Tecnomodel. The complete lack of any proper research, along with inconsistency in accuracy of their models defies all common sense, and all business sense. Only a few of their releases are good, but overall, they mostly keep cranking out junk with massive mistakes, which does affect their reputation. They do not seem to care, and it appears that model dealers and collectors must be desperate to buy anything new since these lousy paperweights or toys masquerading as models keep flowing out of the factory in China.

Latest case in point are their Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta's. The one that is the worst is their interpretation of the 1949 Le Mans winner pictured below. Also below is my list of some of the glaring problems/mistakes/inaccuracies. They made 150 of this LM version, which is 150 too many. This is a complete waste of resin.

Body shape is not correct - close in some ways, but still wrong, front, side profile, interior......
    Missing rear mud flaps.
    Missing trunk lid number light
Handle on trunk lid is wrong
Lic. plate area in trunk lid should be body color (red)
Wrong style wheels should not be deep dish
Hood missing two of the 4 vents
    Missing leather hood straps
Large windshield is wrong - should be two rectangular units.
The interior is a bad joke, everything is wrong! and it looks like it should be in a cheap Burago toy.

And if the photos are reliable, the color is wrong! This looks like Rosso Corsa, but the real car was painted in the darker shade now known (naturally) as Rosso Barchetta.

Yes, you are correct. Shade of red is wrong..... I didn't bother mentioning that, or that the interior colors: seats and floors are all wrong too since the seats are completely wrong for this car, and interior floors & trans tunnel are wrong along with the rest of the screwed up interior.

LOLO, the amzing thing is that at thensame time they released this POS they also released the 340 méxico that is a very decent model...go figure!!!!
I think the 166 and the 512m are the 2 worst models they ever made!

Yes the 340 Mexico is really overall very good, and so is their Aston Martin DP214, but then they go and produce this POS Barchetta model. Tecnomodel is one of the most inconsistent model manufacturers when it comes to making models of vintage cars. The amazing and infuriating thing is that all of their screw ups could be avoided, and that the only models they make that always seem to be really good - really accurate...are of new - modern cars.

Oh and before I forget....They have two others that also go in the category of some of the worst models they ever made.... Aston Martin DB3S, and De Tomaso Mangusta.

Tecnomodel strikes out again. Close, but not close enough. It would be great to have good 500 TRC model, but none have been made yet!

I forgot about the models by V12Sport, but they have problems too. Body shape still not ideal, and a few parts not quite right. Though they do have much better detail than Tecnomodels. That said, I will admit that the 500 TRC body is one of the most difficult to model correctly. The V12 Sport models still don't do it for me, but if you had to go for a 1:18 TRC, then I would vote for one of theirs.

I've been a bit on a BBR buying spree lately. The three latest ones are the 333SP, the 250 GT TdF and the Porsche 936/78.

The 250 is a quite a bit over my maximum amount that I'd like to spend on a sealed model, but the TdF is a model I wanted for a long time and I kept going back to the pictures of Pedro's example. So I finally caved in and bought this one too (with the yellow stripe). I'm going to display it as part of the 3 liter GT series (250 GT Europa, TdF, SWB, GTO and LM). Yes I know that the LM had the 275 engine :)

I've bought two versions of the 333SP. Not on purpose though. I first bought a race version (#50) but when I saw the press version it raised doubts. In the end I'm going to keep the plain press version as this is how I saw it personally in 1995 (see picture).

The shape seems pretty good just going back and forth between the photos. Maybe the rear fenders seem a little big but I don't know the Testa Rossa car shapes real well.

The sideways cavallino on the steering wheel is annoying.
