From what I can gather none of the S1 '62/'63 GTOs were built with flared wheel arches as all were supplied with 6.0 x 15 Front Wheels (600 x 15 tyres) and 6.5 x 15 Rear Wheels (700 x 15 tyres) but as the wider wheels of the S2 '64 body style became available many owners of the S1 GTOs put those 6.5 x 15 Front Wheels and 7.5 x 15 Wheels on them in period. Whether they were repaired by the factory with flared wheel arches I do not know.
I think the wheel arches very often got "rolled" with a pipe in-period in order to accommodate wider rubber/wheels.
Steven, Barchetta CC. I know some "old intellectuals" speak ill of this site, but I remain a fan of the first hour of Barchetta CC. It exists, is open for everyone and free, an open bible. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you, Christian for your reply. Yes some good information on barchetta.cc. I wonder where they got the 538 info from, which is the tipo for 400 Superamerica as other sources state the chassis tipo as 539/566. Does anyone know the owner Carlo Voegele to ask if he has the build sheets to say what they say and also if the car has Watts Linkage?
In reality, I find your question very good, probably because I can t give you a correct reply. Probably Boudewijn can give you a reply?
Already in an article of Prancing Horse 55 of 1978 Michael Lynch wrote of 4561SA: "A 400 SA with modified GTO styling built in 1963".
Thanks, Boudewijn. I don't have the Prancing Horse magazine. I'm wondering how Michael Lynch determined the car was a 400SA. Was it from the build sheets, actual inspection of the chassis where he found 400SA features, or anything else? Keith Bluemel/Jess Pourret have stated in their books that the chassis is GTO. Chassis tipo they state is 539/566 which is the same as 3765 which has a GTO chassis with 20mm longer wheelbase. We know that that is correct as Dyke Ridgley either has or has seen the build sheets for 3765. Have Bluemel and Pourret just assumed that 4561 has a 539/566 chassis because 3765, the other 4 litre car, has this tipo chassis?
Keith Bluemel did an article about his driving experiences with 4561SA in Cavallino 117 (2000), but gave hardly any technical specs.
Thanks again. It was built for Michel Paul-Cavallier though hats off to him for getting that info in pre internet 1978. It's very hard to get definitive info on these intriguing 4 litre cars.
#4561SA was discribed by Col. RJ Hoare as the best car ever built of all time. The thing is Mr M P Cavalier was PDG of Pont a Mousson company and also in was in the Ferrari CEO. I didn't t have the date of sale for this car, but it came with blu leather, and 4l engine and as also fog projector in the front of the car etc..
#4561SA Michel Paul Cavalier had the habit of passing on the national road RN4, you can imagine the people who saw the 330 GTO at full speed. It was also one of the GTO that could reach the 300 km/h.

The industrialist, charged with a tax fraud of 200 million, already put on sale his mega yacht for 29 million, but now goes beyond. According to the sector's sources, it is probing the market to sell the Ferrari 250 GTO that it bought in 2008. It is probably the most expensive vehicle in the world, of which only a handful of units were manufactured. He's asking for him between 60 and 70 million. Unlike their goods in Spain, the collection of luxury vehicles is not seized by justice. It's not the only relevant move. Aristrain has given entry to his second wife in the control of several companies and named the ' Velázquez ' he bought in 2015 at an auction in Seville. As the trial approaches, or makes a box to negotiate with the Treasury or the contrary and tries to save the possible from the grip of the Treasury. A lawyer from Aristrain said that he did not know the sale of the Ferrari or the purchase of ' Velázquez '.
If Aristrain bought 5111GT in 2008 and still owns it, it makes nonsense of the reported claims of the $52 million that it was widely said to have been sold for in 2013.
