A couple more of the Super Touring, which I campaigned enjoyably and unsuccessfully for a number of years. Now retired from any real action other than the time I drove it from Sheffield to Le Mans and back for the 24hrs. anyone have opinions on a 2014-2016 F30 328i? thinking of buying a CPO car as a daily. I know of some issues with timing chains and power steering pumps, anything else to look for/avoid?
I have a 2013 328 X Drive. Mine has the Sportline package and the Lighting package. Had it for about 1.5 years. No issues so far. Honestly it isn't the most exciting car. Feels more appliance like than anything else I have owned. A lot of that probably has to do with the fact it is an auto. I searched forever and could not find a stick car. that's what I'm looking for-an appliance. reliable and easy to live with. I'd buy a Honda but these things are basically the same price and present a little better to clients.
When looking you will notice that BMW is very much like Porsche. Huge option list, and finding a car with all the options you want is impossible. I had a few options I really wanted, so it took a while to find a car that had them.
yeah I'm figuring that out I can take 100 cars online and between colors, options, mileage, and clear carfax narrow it down to 2 or 3
That was my experience as well. Most of the 328s I saw had very basic options. The lighting package was one of my must haves and was damn near impossible to find. If a 335 is in the budget, you will have better luck finding cars with more of the options you want. Plus they sound way better.
I'm having a hard time finding 335s. price delta isn't huge, although fuel economy is a concern (I drive 60-100 miles a day). 320 is too underpowered for me to be interested but the 328 is fine for how I'll use it, and there's a ton of them out there. in theory at least
With that many miles, have you thought about one of the diesels? They are probably even harder to find, but you will save a ton on commuting costs. Before the BMW I had a Jetta TDI. Averaged 45-50mpg. At the time I was commuting 90 miles a day so it made sense.
It didn't get bought back? My 328 replaced the Jetta when it went through the buy back. I miss it everytime I take a road trip. This weekend we are heading to Hilton Head, SC. Went once with the Jetta and it made it on one tank, 640 miles.
This seem very off to anyone else? How Does a BMW Sports Sedan Double in Value Over 16 Years? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-08-16/how-does-a-bmw-sports-sedan-double-in-value-over-16-years Sent from my BBB100-3 using Tapatalk
I saw that car in the auction catalog. I'll be surprised if it sells for that much, but there's a lot of money at Pebble Beach, so who knows?
Why do people buy super low mile cars for massive premiums? You can’t drive them or it immediately loses a ton of value. I am a fan of e39 M5s and drove one recently, but for $180k high estimate there are a lot of other cars I would rather have.
340 x-drive as daily driver. All wheel drive in Chicago works great - over 320 hp and torque give it some fun too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I also agree that I don't think it will fetch the predicted price, but I believe you'd be hard pressed to find a better sports sedan.
I've owned many older BMWs. Mainly E30s, an E39, and a E46. Racing I drove an M235I Racing Cup car last year and will be driving again in one in a couple races. BMW builds great cars out of the box, even the stock 3 Series we have at Atlanta Motorsports Park and use for some lead follow type stuff are good handling cars. Would love an E30 M3 one day. That's my bucket list BMW.

Honestly, how does that end up getting through design all the way to production at a major global manufacturer looking like a turd like that?
