What is the best paint color to match the original red for the intake manifold?

Also, what is correct? Wrinkle finish or smooth finish?

I have searched and can not find these specific answers. Thanks!!

A very fine wrinkle finish in semi gloss. But wait what year is your car, is it 2 valve Injected or a QV.

miketuason... what paint did you use? When I did mine, the closest recommendation I found on FChat was VHT Wrinkle Plus red paint (available on Amazon). Many said it is "close" in color but not as red as factory. My crinkles came out like yours... which are a little less "crinkly" than my original... and indeed the color came out not quite as red as it should be (it has a slight orange tint).

If someone has found a more proper red paint, I intend to re-do mine.

Alex, I had mine powder coated along with my throttle body which I think is much better than spray painting it.
Unless you’re good with aerosol cans like one of the member here did a great job, I would have it powder coat.

Thanks Chaya! I really didn’t do it myself, I had the pro powder coated it for me. And here is the matching throttle body.
