First the new simpleton logo but what’s now with the new soundtrack? Sounds like it belongs to a gladiators movie. I swear they’re turning f1 into a cross between WWE and a stupid videogame.

Rebroadcasting the Sky feed to the US audience will prove to be a disaster. If Hamilton wins the first 3 races look for ratings to plummet

So much doom and gloom (not just you, but almost everyone). You should make a new 'How many races will Ferrari win this year thread/poll'. Quick, before qualifying.

If Hamilton walks away with the first three races look for the ratings to plummet.

That's a fact. If people believe there will be no excitement in the series they will tune out.

Music not too bad. Reminds me of the intro to the old Wide World of Sports…

I liked it at first but by the end of both practice sessions I hate it. Fake sounds, dumb conversation, no on screen data, etc. The only thing I did like was the timing on the left had the team logos which was cool.

    Compared with this ?

This soundtrack (Fleetwood Mac) was pure Pavlov's dog ,when you heard it you knew you were in for a real treat.

I prefer even this old one

But this was perfect to the point

They are fixing things that aren’t broke and doing nothing for the rest

F1 is owned by mediots. And they're called that for good reason.

Being a Brit and having just bought into Ferrari leaves me in an interesting position. I normally cheer on Hamilton on the occasion I watch but as with the rugby when England were so bad my allegiance swapped to supporting Italy, especially in their game against Scotland. Given I only watch F1 occasionally it will be interesting to see whether I'll watch more due to my new purchase or simply start watching the build up and then remember I have my own super car in the garage and go and take it for a blast instead..... much more fun[emoji41]

Of course I can then put on whatever tune I want.... Fleetwood Mac to get the gas pedal pumping perhaps

Bingo! Before people are saying ''oh stop getting upset about little things like that''....it's precisely that they're not doing things AT ALL that matter with the actual sport, instead fiddling with things that are on the very bottom of importance. Fix the competition, fix the on track action, then fiddle with the rest. Time is running out.

Actually just listened to it, not good. On a more important note, why aren't we complaining about the loss of the grid girls.. my youngest reminded me of that sad demise.

One of the best intros was back in the Shumi days ...they used the song Going the Distance by Cake. Can't find footage of it though.

That's awful. It sounds like a 9-year old made it with an IOS music app.

Did anybody else think the audio and video were both "soft"? I don't know anything about the technology, but is there a chance that ESPN could be dumbing down the broadcast specs from Sky in order to save a few $$? It wouldn't surprise me a bit. This is sports coverage on the cheap. As a media company Liberty should be embarrassed.

Just watched the quali. I know the halos are important for safer, but god do they look poor.

Can’t see the rear of the car from the front, can’t see the drivers head, and can’t see the track from the onboard camera position, just even more advertising for those that figures out the camera angles.

They should put some effort into getting ride of the aerodynamics; they are everywhere including the halo, so little chance of real overtaking.

The only hope is that the F1 streaming app is ready soon and is as advertised. So far, Liberty and ESPN have failed. We'll see how they handle the pre-race show and the race itself. Perhaps we are seeing growing pains but I am not optimistic.

Well watched a bit of qualifying...... then decided to take out the 458. Even with the weather bordering on rain guess which was more fun.

So far I found the coverage less than Stella...ESPN ‘s
coverage is not geared for US fans; the miscues and lack of continuity so far annoying. Sky is not bad per say. ESPN doesn’t seem to give a damn about how it is presented which surprises me as Liberty’s goal is increase US viewership. Hope tomorrow’s race doesn’t leave out the important bits.

There's too much inside the beltway stuff. If you're trying to get additional viewers you have to adapt the product to their needs. Sky viewers are grandfathered in already. So are most of us. But it's not going to make F1 grow in the USA.

I have to admit the visual coverage was pretty good but I still had trouble with the audio. I will try to adjust the TV sound settings next race that is not in the middle of the night! Too many commercials but at least they did split screen most of the time.
