Interesting auction results, quite on the low side: Countach 5000S at Gooding for USD 235'000 350 GT at Gooding for USD 570'000 Diablo 6.0 SE with only 14 miles at RM for USD 370'000 LM002 with not even 1'000 miles at RM for 265'000
I was bidding on the LM002. It was pretty rough. I expected to put $50k-70k into the car. I didn’t even think it would meet the low estimate of $200k. Guess I was wrong!
Thank you for this information. The low price makes more sense with this background info. Looked like a bargain to me at first glance as the description of the car was quite good.
It was already auctioned in 2016 for the same amount: http://www.sportscardigest.com/mecum-dallas-2016-auction-report/2/ https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1984-lamborghini-countach-5000s/ Basically the description says they did the engine and the full body, but the interior looks very tired. The price looks like a good opportunity.
Yes , that LM had the worst paint I have ever seen. The interior had mold in areas, NO service records what so ever. I stopped at $190K. IMO it would take at least $150K to get it to where it should be. The 6.0SE also was in need of MAJOR MAJOR service as it has just been sitting rotting away in a warehouse in Japan. Keep in mind it was ALSO a Canadian car not a USA car, I think that held it back a bit as well...but with buyers fee, it still came to $400K plus sale. Which I think waws about right for what it was. I stopped at $325K
Considering the miles I think $258k for the Countach 5000S was a little strong... converting back to factory carbs would be at least $15-20k, front bumper? $5k-8k... I am shocked that Gooding & Co even accepted this car as a consignment.
Was this car originally delivered with carbs? If not changed to carbs is not like delivered from the factory...
Originally delivered with carbs, it is a European Car. Originally delivered with a European front bumper.
Garth Hammers @ Gooding called me before the auction and we chatted, by then they had already committed to the car
Yes. For whatever reason it didn't look familiar until I saw Raymond's post. I guess the glamour shots threw me off. lol.
Thank you all for the insights, good information! It seems that just the 350 GT was a good purchase in that case.
Dam wish I was there for that one. What a great deal Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hollywood Wheels apparently do not show prices realized. Anyone know how all their 9 Lamborghini lots went? Did their Miura, LP400 or LM sell?

Rear quarter was also damaged pretty bad a few years ago. Cool project but not at that price. I know of a White car with 26,000 miles fully serviced, needs some minor TLC for $229k.
