Wow!! WTF is wrong with that man! Who would say such a thing!

99.99% of fighters worst fear would be to do such a thing to their opponent and he actually reckons "The Bronze Bomber" wants to do it. :(

The man needs a phys evaluation asap!

Ref got most of the action.
Uppercut from AJ that missed would have taken Parkers head off. AJ knew it too, gave a little smile as ref stepped in...again
Was like he was expected to go the 12. Maybe he should go back to his old ways where he never went more than 3 rounds!!

Yeah, the ref definitely slowed the action down didn't he?

Towards the middle/end I also agree that as soon as they both clinched it's as if they looked straight at the ref to come and break them up.

I still think it would have been the same outcome, AJ a winner by a clear margin. But an inside fight would have added a little more excitement to the fight.

I think he trained and prepared himself to go 12 rounds in this fight. It's like he wanted to add another dimension to his arsenal.

He can KO fighters, but he can also easily go the distance with them if he wants to. Which was the case here.

I watched a few videos where AJ said he would KO Parker and that if there was an opportunity to put him away early he would.

I think that was all talk because he didn't seem to really unleash on Parker at anytime through the fight like he normally would when he has someone against the ropes.

It seems he was more interested in sticking behind the jab and going on the distance on points. It would have been nice to AJ to test Parkers chin. As Andrew said, that super quick uppercut would have taken Parkers head off and it would have nice to see if Parker could with stand AJ's power considering that's all they ever talked about in this fight. "Parker has never been dropped".

I think AJ turned off during the fight, got bored I think. But at least he stuck to the game plan and gave himself an easy fight.

I wasn't impressed with AJ's performance. I think it had something to do with Parker's awkward style but still not a good showing for AJ. And what was with that referee? He was horrendous. Where do they get these guys? Incompetence would be a kind characterization of that referees ability.

Pap, I have to completely disagree with you. I know he is your boy and all, and you totally got me hooked on him, But I just think he had an off night. Parker was a lot for him.
Actually, his last 2 fights were not too eventful.

GGG v Canelo is off. Canelo withdrew before his hearing with the Boxing commission which wasn't to occur until next week. Guy isn't mentally there to get in the ring with GGG and have his tail handed to him again. De La Hoya probably couldn't pay off another judge so he moved to have it cancelled. Canelo losing again would just cause him to not get a headliner fight for the rest of his career.

Just heard about this. Hopefully they can find a suitable replacement for May 5th. Rumors abound over Spike O'Sullivan or Andrade. We'll soon find out. No matter how anybody spins this its all Canelo's fault. If he knew that Mexican beef was tainted he should have stayed away from it. Canelo showed the boxing world that he doesn't care about the professional responsibility required of an athlete at this level.

Hi Joe, did you see when they turned the camera on Ray sitting at ringside and did you hear the eruption from the crowd?? :D

Truely amazing that 20 years after his boxing career, there is still so much love for Ray. :)

And I am sure in another 20 years time there will still be a lot of love for the legend that is Sugar Ray Leonard. :D

And there you have it. **** him!

Hopefully they throw a lot of money at Billy Joe to make that fight happen.

They may as well get it over and done with. Billy Joe was only just calling the winner of the GGG/Canelo fight after he won his title fight against Lemieux last December.

Billy Joe is scheduled to fight Martin Murray in June from memory, but I wonder if they can cancel that one so he can fight GGG.

It's a laughable excuse. Every high level boxer heavily controls the sources where their protein comes from let alone a multi millionaire like Canelo. Being caught the first time would be enough to rethink ones food supplier, if that were what was going on. There's a reason the guy was training in Mexico this time around, not San Diego as was usual. Guy was caught once before the first fight with GGG too. Loser

Was a huge boxing fan but turned off the sport for last 20 yrs or so. But just started reading the mike tyson autobiography from 2013. Amazing book! He was the last of his kind, heavyweight champ who captivated entire world. Doubt we will see another like him. Believe it or not, craziest stories he tells is of his life as a stick up man in Brooklyn at age 9! Crazy and a must read f or boxing fans

I think Saunders promoter said he would be willing to fight Golovkin in June not May. Guess he needs time to heal that "damaged" hand. :)

Correct, his hand was hurt in training and they pushed the Murray fight back a little. But he is obviously willing to drop that fight to fight GGG to make a lot of money. lol. :D

Do you guys really think Parker was too much for AJ?? Parker didn't do **** all but back up all night while AJ controlled him with the jab.

When Parker decided to 'attack' it was rather wild and did not achieve anything. I don't think Parker has an awkward style at all. Tyson Fury has an awkward style, Wilder has an awkward style also, but Parker is pretty conventional if you ask me. I have watched his last 10 fights over the last few years, Parker is over rated and I don't think he actually beat Andy Ruiz for that WBO title last year just quietly. The fight was held in NZ, must have got a 'home town' advantage.

AJ was definitely too much for Parker, he didn't know what to do to beat him. Parkers face at the end of it tells the story of the fight. Swollen, cut and bruised. AJ didn't have a mark on him.

I think AJ didn't impress most because he didn't KO Parker. After seeing 20 straight KO's, I think we were expecting an exciting KO and we were all let down a little in this fight because it went 12 rounds. I think he fought brilliantly which made this an easy victory for him.

I think if he actually tried to fight like his previous 20 fights and go for the KO, I think he could have stopped Parker if he wanted to stand there and trade blows with him. He didn't try for the KO in this fight if you ask me, (with the exception of those two cheeky super quick/vicious uppercuts that missed after the clinch) he was happy to stick behind the jab and take it on points and he did that quite easily. AJ told Parker that he was going to KO him and end it early if he had the chance, but I think that was all mind games leading up to the fight as AJ knew he wanted to take the fight to 12 and take it on points. It seemed like he took his time in the ring, was happy to just jab and cut the ring off and Parker didn't have a plan b. His plan was for AJ to 'gas out' and take him out in the later rounds, but again AJ out smarted the lad by coming into the fight the lightest he has been since 2014. AJ knew what he was doing.

Even the Kiwi judge scored 119-109 to AJ lol. Even he knew what was going on lol. I was expecting the Kiwi judge at ringside to call the fight at least a draw lol. The judges got the score cards right that night.

The ref??? Dear me!! What a disgrace, hopefully he never refs another AJ fight again. Or any fight for that matter!

And I totally agree in regards to AJ's last fight against Takam. I read recent interviews from AJ saying that he didn't take Takam seriously after Pulev pulled out of their fight. He didn't train hard, didn't eat right, stayed out late and he also said that will never happen again as things are getting serious leading up to the Parker fight. High stakes now boys!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts guys, I appreciate it and I love the discussion. Everyone has their own opinion which is great, it makes us who we are.

After Wielder won big, I just really expected AJ to outshine him.
    Unfortunately he didnt.
