What are the tire sizes on the Speciale? I thought they were wider than 458 tires at least in the rear. Can the larger tires be fitted to a std 458?
You want to run standard 458 or you will have traction control light problems/issues. You can go up to a 245/35/20 front instead of the 235s. But the rears you want to keep the 295/35/20. These tires sizes are still within the manufactures specs for what size wheels they can fit on, so your not pushing any limits. Some think the front 235 looks a bit stretched but you can jump to the 245 no prob and that looks perfect. As far as widths, the fronts and rears on a special are only 1/2 inch wider. The fronts a dead ringer on offset, the rears will sit 10MM more outward towards the fender (more aggressive but only 10MM, which is not much). 458 specs Front 8.5J X 20 ET 46.5mm, Rear 10.5J X 20 ET 58.5 mm Speciale specs Front 9J X 20 ET 44.7 mm, Rear 11J X 20 ET 48.4 mm Here is a customers car (non Speciale 458) we did. Good angle to see the fitment. He loves the car and how it turned out! Its not the clearest picture but you get the point. cheers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is another look at a 458. This time with 488 wheels. They also are 1/2 inch larger both front and rear compared to the standard 458 wheels. This customer chose to run the larger 245/35/20 front tires. The rears are the 295/35/20 standard 458 sizes. The 488 wheels stick out an additional 10MM more even over the special wheels and 20MM more then the normal 458 wheels giving the car a very aggressive rear end (the rear wheels and tires are damn near flush with the fenders). We have these in matte black also if they appeal to you more. We can do these at $5K shipped also if interested. If any of this is a bit confusing please feel free to call me or email. Your statement on rear tyres: .... I have 305’s on my oem 458 rims at the back like the Speciale. Never ever had any ECU problems !
Read this thread, post # 11 that's from a Ferrari dealership test fitting. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/speciale-wheels-vs-458-wheels.481322/
You guys are nuts for not jumping on these 458 Speciale wheels at $6K. Absolutely transforms the car with some Michelin Super Sports.
I have another set of the Corsa grey, black sold out. $6K Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Super thanks to Exoticar Auto for the awesome Speciale wheels (sorry, I bought the last gray set). He's right, the car is absolutely transformed compared to the stock cast wheel (and they are much lighter than the 488 forged wheel as well). I saved between 8-9 pounds PER CORNER of unsprung weight. The car has more crisp inputs, and just feels lighter on it's feet. Amazing contact and customer support as well. Very happy with the transaction and results. The enclosed pics is with no spacer and while it's no problem, I ordered 10 mm spacers to have the stock rear offset through them as well and will put on this weekend. One of the best wheel purchases I've ever made! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not many people willing to "back date" a new Ferrari. However I think you made a great choice. Enjoy in good health!
