I decided to cut this one open and see If I could just swap batterys, Unfortunatly thats a huge no. It will not be a simple battery swap. Looks like garbage to me. Enjoy Image Unavailable, Please Login
Other than needing batteries, I have one in good shape if you are of a mind to open and replace them.
I was going to see if my local battery place can get replacement batteries, that was my original intention with this one.
Well, mine is for sale if you decide to get the batteries. New sirens from Ricambi are listed at over $460 and then you may not know how fresh the batteries are (how long they been setting on the shelf). There are several recent threads here on Fchat with links to sources that have the correct battery at a reasonable price if your local place doesn't have them. Some already have the wire leads soldered on them so all you need to do is open the case (sometimes easier said than done....instructions on how to do that are on here too) and plug them in. I should have done this myself but didn't know about replacing the batteries at the time so I bought a new one from Eurospares at around $350 at the time plus shipping and duty. Oh well....live and learn. A tip. Whatever you decide to do, when you install the siren, be sure you position it so water from the headlamp gaps can't get into the "speaker" area. Being the anal guy that I am, I actually made a small shield for mine and sloped it away from the "speaker just to be safe.
I bought my siren from Ricambi. I prefer the Ferrari chirp over the Corvette chirp. I am big on OEM parts and anal like that
You should do what makes you happy. It's the same OEM, and same identical part though, and the location of the siren on my car is not even visible, so no one can see the Cavallino. I got hood shocks for 1/4 (!) the price of the Ferrari parts, again the same OEM and same identical parts without the logo. Ferrari sources many generic parts from all over the automotive industry. They put their horse on it and quadruple the price.
