I have been using the cars "in anger" on B, C roads, Autobahn, Mountain Passes etc etc in Oz and Europe with buddies. We don't use them as transport and sometimes are probably a little too "excitable" and "punchy" :). We also do upwards of 6-8 trips a year so they get a fair workout over and above normal use. I cant get my head around waiting two years for the Pista and committing the funds (and probably reasonable deposit) and if timing does not work out being hamstrung by the weather and not being able to use the car.

My dealer is telling me that in the US each dealer will get 4 to 7 allocations depending on their respective position with FNA. I was told this is it (600-700 units). I guess we will see what really happens. Just curious where you are getting your info from on availability and pricing.

Value-wise I think this is also based on the economy at the time the cars become available. Speciale can already be bought below MSRP, the Aperta is another story. 430 Scuds rose quite a bit early on then leveled off, spiked then leveled off again. Again the 16M different story. I bet the value rises on the scud down the road but just an opinion.

That's quite a few, hopefully not indicative of what others are getting. FoW who is a big dealer is saying they are only getting 5 or 6.

1- Your dealer told you exactly what you needed to hear in order to sell you a Lusso, and make big $$$ off you. Based on your prior comment, it worked.

2- when, in the history of auto dealers, has a dealer been trustworthy and willing to pass on extra profit? I have been in the industry for years and know the games.

3- With regards to Pista production being until the end of the 488 cycle, it was stated in press reports and mentioned in a prior video I had posted on Fchat at the official unveiling. This was also true of the 458 Speciale, hence you see 2014 and 2015 MY cars.

I was told by a client of another Texas dealership that their dealership received 20 allocations.

I was also told the carbon fiber wheels were not designed for track use. That doesn’t make much sense to me. If it’s true, you heard it here first.

Trust me I know what you are saying and yes they got me but I do want the car and the Lusso will replace the FF I just traded. Maybe it is 6 to 6 per year. I am hoping to get mine early so I am ahead of the game.

Assuming total production for 2,000 Pistas (number circulated but clearly not gospel), using the same US regional split as total of Ferrari sales ie 1/3, that's 675-700 cars for NA.
36 dealers in the US so 19-20/dealer. Obviously there will be some with more or less.
As an aside Ferrari makes close to 4,500 sports V8 cars a year so they could make many more pistas if they wanted to with end of production late '19

It's your money and you have every right to spend it exactly as you see fit. Just wanted to make sure to describe the full perspective, that's all. Good luck and enjoy the Lusso when you get it!

I haven't read the entire thread, but I can attest to the fact after buying 5 Ferrari's from my dealer, and offering them $100k over msrp, I was told in a very nice way that I won't be making the list. I get the system and even have a GT2 RS on order which was not an easy task. My dealer is getting 5 units and I'm getting one. I'd love a Pista, but I'm out of idea's.

This seems very surprising to me. I'm thinking it has a lot to do with your location.

Its got to be location. Read somewhere you cant buy from other states ? Is that true ? well if it is that's why you have your dealers doing such things. Demand outstrips supply. Looks like exploiting customers.

I am not sure how your dealership works but at mine you needed to have bought the lesser demand cars like Cali, FF, Lusso to be considered. I also did an all-in approach with them, I make sure they know that I am a total Ferrari (their dealership) guy and also convinced my wife to dump her CayenneTurbo for the Levante Torfeo (upcoming). Honestly your getting another crazy car in the GT2RS so good on you, I asked for manual GT3 and was told to keep dreaming. Another reason I pulled the CayenneTurbo (2019 order).

If the distance to your closest dealer exceeds a stated mileage (100 miles I think, but could be wrong), you can buy from any dealer willing to sell to you, but without a working relationship with a specific dealer the buyer's not likely to get a high demand model.

Were you told that you may have a better chance if you were to purchase a Lusso?

Sounds odd. Is it that you were too late to the Pista party? Maybe they just have too many on their list who also met the criteria vs their actual allocation?
