I had a 944 before my Mondial. Great handling, very tossable sports car, sounded great with a Borla exhaust.

Just to clarify, you do not drop the engine for a timing belt service on a 360, access is through the panel behind the seats. The last car requiring that was the 355.

Unfortunaly its only a little whining (?) sound starting but in time things will brake inside transmission. There are examples that did drive a few 1000 miles/miles with the sound. Others did not have that luck.
stekkefun4 did have some expierence with this sound...there will be many others, just look it this and 348 section.
Pre inspection/test drive can be done with some one who has a t allready...he will notice the difference between a healthy car and a "issue" car. (I hope).
Good luck with this purchase !
PS : a happy QV owner since 2002..

This 968 is beautiful, probably one of the nicest in the country. I only bought it to hold me off till I could find another 964. Of course now my 964 has turned into a Ferrari.
But I’ve already spent 10 grand in the last year and a half on mechanicals. Still has a rough idle and needs a clutch then it will be perfect.

JLF - I’m one of the 43 and I can tell you that I LOVE this car. Had a 308 QV before and would not go back. The chassis and drivetrain of the t are fantastic, the cab forward design and longer wheelbase coupled w the power and sound make it a dream to drive both in a spirited way and on extended highway runs. It is a true Ferrari experience that you can share w your kids as I do. A family man’s Ferrari that is not a compromise. Wait and find a t coupe!

Our "t" last summer. A '90 model ordered new from Pozzi in 1989 and delivered under tax free plates from in Paris and flown to the U.S. a couple years later. Under 9,000 miles from new. Great handling, fun car, I can understand you want one. Welcome to the club. :)

You guys are so wrong!! The Mondial is ugly, very slow, and a maintainence nightmare!! Please believe me!! All you need do is listen to all the educated arm chair drivers/Ferrari owners on the web- so you know it’s true!!-and they’ll tell you all the “facts” about the Mondial!!

Sometimes PaulC sees the (self-serving) “wisdom” in my statements, isn’t that correct PaulC? Truly horrible cars.

The gas pump stuck in the filler probably reduces the price even further, poor fellow, maybe someday you can afford to get it painted red as well...just don't put a stripe on it like Guido's as then the market value goes to near zero.

That’s a secret Guido!! Please don’t spread the word!! Misinformation may be my best, and only ally, in the pursuit of my dream car (t coupe, preferably NOT red, but I know too that beggars cannot be choosers)

Absolutely correct!!! Don't forget to test drive the 3.2, qv, and 8 coupes too. You might find you like them better.

    Best wishes.

Plus one...I'm obviously biased but the QV coupe is my favourite...ideal combination of older styling (which I prefer) and updated 4 valve engine. But any model is a winner in my opinion. Happy hunting!
