Vettel cheerier that I expected. Saw him having a chat with mac before interview max has accepted the blame.

**** happens. Vettel has made these mistakes in the past, move onto next grand prix. Vettel still leading the points. Hamilton had a shocking grand prix which is very encouraging

Sorry I disagree. Ferrari decided to leave Kimi out there on lousy tires to lose 8 seconds with the hope of slowing up Bottas. That's not luck. That's strategy.

Unfortunately its par for the course for Ferrari to absolutely BLOW their strategy. Its embarrassing, its every year!

Do you actually think Ferrari had strategy today? Exchanging a 1-2 for a 3-8?

Ferrari ignominiously defeated by ..... Ferrari. ;)

First there was that chop move off the grid that cost Kimi positions.

Then the bad stop that cost Vettel the lead.

Then they left Kimi out on old tires to hold up Bottas ...
... which Vettel utterly failed to capitalize on.

Then on the SC, Red Bull cycled both cars onto fresh tires, ...
... but Ferrari did nothing for Kimi who was between the RBs.

Overall, it looks like the Ferraris have the pace, but their aero won't support close following -- which makes overtaking more difficult for them.

    Cue the wind tunnel.

But it also looks like Ferrari is hung up on trying to keep Kimi designated "second" driver.
News flash, Ferrari: it's a team sport. Let's see some teamwork.
You need both cars up front scoring points for constructors' points.
It seems like Ferrari gets focused on one car and ignores the other.
That's been going on for some years now.

    Yea, its just REALLY BAD.

It was mentioned here to back Kimi down into Bottas, and that's all well and good to joke about and discuss the different possibilities here at home watching, but that's freakin amateur hour. You don't ACTUALLY do that in a world championship when you have real options available. There was plenty of time to make up a pit stop. Once again they were caught out and didn't have a response to RB and Merc. They need to fire whoever made that call. I'll submit my resume and we'll go win the title :D:D:D

Aside from maybe some marginal differences, I don't think any team has aero advantageous to passing. No one can pass anyone without there being some sort of sizable performance disparity in play (engine or tires etc.)

I'm curious to how long this "Gandhi" Vettel lasts lol. Backing up Ham in the press conference, being apologetic to Ver crashing into him, not screaming on the radio lol. It's refreshing, but I wonder if he is actually trying to be an ambassador for the drivers or it's just early season humbleness.
