Not much to go on, but 3187 GT, a Series II car was sold in Minneapolis in the mid 1990's and in the late 1990's advertised for sale in the 612 area code (not 651, but still Minnesota). That one would be my best guess.

No serious rust, but just some light-hearted rust.

BMWairhead, tifoso2728 and davidoloan like this.
  4. The Challenger would be a nice find as well. When I bought my Pantera, I could have bought the seller's other car, a 250 GTE for pretty much the same money. It was apart, and the body was modified. This was around 2000. The car was later sold & parted out for a GTO build. Whoops...

EarlyCat - Do you remember the sellers name and/or the serial number of the GTE? Always looking to update the GTE Register!

  6. Butch Gilbert was the owner of the GTE & my Pantera in Westly California. The car was bought by Shaughnessy & parted. Engine sold to Greg Jones. I do not have the serial number. The car had body modifications, like flairs, IIRC. If you find it, I would be curious. Let me know!

3187GT is said to be a 1961 model. This ad states that the car is a 1963. I never did go look at it; however the phone number indicated that it was nearby - in Cottage Grove, MN.

Around the 1980 time frame, the seller of my 1968 Shelby GT500 also had a green 289 Cobra with Webers on it. Said I could have it "for only $25K". Whoops...

Butch Gilbert owned 3679 GT. I believe it is alive and living as a restored GTE in France, but given your description, I will have to question that.

  12. Yes. Shaughnessy sent me a pm several years ago on the car. I would guess another engine was found. Good to see it still around, hopefully with a Ferrari engine.

  14. Looks fantastic. Butch apparently had a double bubble coupe as well.
