had a 328.....the 4c is a totally diff animal. The 328 is a GT car...the 4c is a true honest to God sports car. Makes modern Porsches seem soft....and fat.

This car always has a spot in my garage. Unfortunately not at a point or have enough room to add a fifth car

I have decided to take the plunge. Purchased a 4C spider. I have been on the the fence for a bit. Wanted something fun I could use as a somewhat daily driver to sit along side my F12 and old 911 DP cabriolet. Was cross shopping the i8, boxster, lotus 400, etc. To me, the 4c had more of the fun factor. To be delivered Friday!

I assume FCA credit card reward points can be redeemed, at the Alfa dealer towards a new 4C purchase ?

I have all 4 Cayman S instead of boxster, i8, Evora 400 (gearshift) & 4C. The 4C (mine has both an ECU and Transmission tune) is by far the most raw and gives you most pure driving experience. I rarely say this about a car, but the 4C is a keeper, congrats & enjoy!

Car nut, whose product did you go with for the ECU tune. Is it worth it? I have been look at the package from centerline for their stage 2 tune and corsa center exhaust.

Saw my first 4C in person Saturday at Cars n Coffee. Was bigger than it appears in pictures, but I was really impressed. Local dealer brought it and I chatted with him and got a business card stressing I hope to be able to get a 2015 with some miles. The one he brought was a 2018 Spyder and it was $85k ! He was a sharp guy and had heard me mention a Maserati GranTurismo also, which he said he could get also from one of the other dealerships they own for a drive.

Lucky for me many of the guys know me and have seen the metal I have owned. I was in my 91 MR2 and I doubt on its own that car would convey I had the means to buy any of the above from a dealer. :)

I have seen some 2015's in the $35k to $45k range depending on coupe / spyder / and miles.

Really need to sit in one and drive it.

Ps: Declined the chance to sit in the 2018 as I had my .45 (concealed carry). Did not want to touch or adjust the .45 to fit in the car with so many people around.

I suggest you go to the Alfa Romeo 4C forum, I (and other fchat members are on there), you will find lots of info. Since the products I bought are from vendors not part of this forum, I am not sure it is okay to list them. I think the tune is well worth it, and the tuners sell you a cloned ECU so you can swap it out whenever you need to.

I saw a red 4C with gold wheels and a black roof. Plus it has some strange (carbon?) rocker panel piece under the door that went half way up behind the door in front of the rear tire. The owner was just driving away but that car looks awfully short...
Still it sounds like great fun from the feedback here!

they are a bit difficult to get in and out of. My first time was like "no way" but after a while you get used to it. And the lack of power steering is a turn off for some. That also takes some getting used to.

But the engine noises and the handling will make you LOL.

I always move the seat back as far as it can go and make sure I cam open the door as wide as possible, and if I can do both it is not that hard to get in and out of. Then again I am 5'8 and around 152lbs. I let Francis at Algar take it for a spin, and he is at least 6'2" and had no issues. I also have a carry but I use a magna mount that is under the steering column in the cars that have seats that make it too uncomfortable to have anything but an empty holster on my waist.

Sounds a lot like a modern easier to use Countach. No p.s., difficulty with ingress and egress, and lack of rear visibility. At speed and experience, it all comes together. I like claustrophobic cars which almost sit on the ground. The looks ain't too shabby either.

My 2018 4C Spider was delivered Friday. Took it out for some longer stretches over the weekend. Managed to put 250 miles on it. Overall, I live it and am so glad I got it!!
It surprised my at how quick it accelerates. - may not want to do the ECU tune
    Handling is sublime
The dual clutch is not as smooth as Porsche's or Ferrari's, but not bad. Much better once I was able to get into dynamic mode.
The ride is firm, but not too harsh. Would be nice to be able to put transmission into dynamic modes and suspension into a softer mode at times - ala McLaren
Stereo is quirky, but sound quality is good.
The engine makes great sounds! Decent exhaust note from the stock base exhaust, but I will probably upgrade. Hearing that turbo spool up right behind your head and all the other noises is so cool.
Ingress and egress is a bit awkward, but not too bad. Quite comfy once you are in.
I thought the fit and finish is pretty good.
To me, it feels a bit like my old Challenge Stradale, just a bit tighter and firmer. It is a lot of fun to drive. Vastly different from my F12, but just as enjoyable.

Three spots in the garage, so dp doesn’t have to go. And I don’t think it will go anywhere anywhere soon. Lol.

There is a transmission tune that makes it shift (I think it is 27% ) faster that I bought for my car. Apparently once you use it for a car it cannot be used with any other car. A shame because once you put it on there is no way you are going to take it off. I think it made a big difference in my car. There are a few vendors that sell this, you can find one of the 4C forum (I am mrbreeze on there) I also have the sprint booster V3 (it was the first one they made for the Alfa), and with that and the other modifications (ECU/air box), the 4C is pretty quick. Enjoy and congrats!

I thought the gearbox was pretty close to my F430 with a few caveats. I wish you could go to neutral by hitting both paddles and it doesn't downshift sometimes when you hit the paddles in some circumstances (I'm sure to protect the gearbox) but it's not a big deal.

It is fun to drive though. You can redline it and the cops won't arrest you!

My only complaint on the transmission is it would be nice to be able to switch to neutral stopped or rolling with the paddles. It’s so hard to show off the sounds... ;)
