He was bloody rapid today...I'm happier seeing him really go for it rather than trundle half a second behind Vet. So he didn't get it today..unlucky and a longg race with safety cars is ahead.

Good thing Vet put in a flyer early, cause he messed up too at the end. Had to give a fist pump when Ham couldn't match him :D

Funny how all the people that used to tell us Hamilton was a god, and the car is only quick because of him are silent now it’s clear that he can’t outdrive the car at all, and now it’s not the class of the field, he can barely outrun bottles, let alone get anywhere near a pole position....mmmmmmmmmmm.

Did you not see the first race? Hamilton fans have nothing to prove, he is a 4 time champion. He is 2nd in points. Hamilton has set the bar so high that his haters expect him to win every pole/race, tells you how much they respect his craft. Vettel and Ferrari are great so far this year, Vettel is just driving better so far this year

Judging by his lip, Seb must have been in party mode at some seedy Spanish night club recently.

Here they are...... hehehehe, doesn’t take much to get them bleating about his car getting him his championships. Awww, he looked so strong in the last race didn’t he, and today’s qualy, yep, ass handed to him by Vettel, and barely ahead of his buddy bottles..... yep, a true champion hahahahahahahahahaha.

This quali has more disappointments than surprises

    Haas: Disappointing
    McLaren: Disappointing
    Toro Rosso: Disappointing
    Kimi: Disappointing

Vettel and Hamilton you figure to be up there. RB you figure to be in the top 6. The only surprises are the Williams and Leclerc.

awesome to see Kimi going purple in the first two sectors on the last lap of Q3, but then lost it on the last real corner.

Didn't catch what happened with MAG last lap or what the issue was with GRO car, but it's going to be tough for Haas to get any points.

Safety cars and tricky winds should shake things up, anything could happen, but with VET on pole, looking good for Ferrari!

In Atlanta this weekend and we were all pulling for that magic lap. Had it all the way up until the end. Glad to see him pushing again!

    Kimi disappointing? I don’t agree.

I saw a very motivated (and dare I say it: consistent) Kimi this afternoon.

    Go Kimi!!!!!

Anyone understand why qualifying time was over a second slower than last year?

Temperature and wind. Race is earlier and the circuit is cooler and dirty.

Well, before he scr*w*d up, he was all purple in the two first sectors - so very much knife between his teeth. He probably was a bit too eager to get that pole.

Exactly why he was disappointing. He screwed up. At least he admitted it.

Right now he’s free to screw up as much as he wants. Ferrari doesn’t want him to outshine Kid Index, he has total freedom to choke in quali without worry. Or score P1. He’ll have to give it up at the end anyway via pit. ;).

That’s a huge change, especially with the more aggresive tire compound this year with the ultra soft. Not doubting, just shocked. I was thinking it was perhaps Mercedes not using as high a party mode and the removal of oil burning, but temp certainly matters.
