Nikki Lauda on the Red Bull collision: "70% Verstappen's fault because he moved twice across the track, 30% Daniel's fault for being too close"
Yes...you should never be too close in racing... Always keep a safety distance [emoji16] Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
I agree with Niki. Too many blocking moves for one corner by Verstapen. Ricciardo is a brilliant overtaker, but . . . . . not always. Now, if the stewards blame Max, will he pick up a suspension?
Looking on the positive side: Mercedes didn't really "win" this race - It was handed to them due to the safety cars. Had the race been a more normal race, without the safety cars, then Seb would have won this comfortably. Time for Ferrari and Seb to regroup and go again.
Watch a replay: Bottas drove over a piece of debris on the start/finish straight - There were sparks from his rear wheel/tyre when he hit it.
Err... that was a joke (albeit not a very good one, as I am ready to admit). Bottles probably drove over a bit of Max/Ricci debris. Unlucky driver of the day.
Actually, I was wondering if Hamilton threw a bit of debris out of his cockpit knowing it might catch out one of the cars ahead of him!
That is what I want also, but there is no denying that after the Schumacher era EVERY TIME a simple setback like this happens the team goes into panic mode; forcing yet more point-costing errors. In the last few years that I remember now: 1) In 2012 the over 50 point lead was lost in about 4 races and the Championship lost. 2) Last year [And I unfortunately predicted it after the race] the team effectively lost the Champion at Monza; from that moment on everything turned to crap. I DO WANT Ferrari and their drivers to win the Championship, but if they revert to their "panic mode" it could be difficult.
Great analysis by A. Davidson on the RBR crash. Says DR lost downforce/braking once Max took the inside line he shot for...said a collision was inevitable at that point.
