Innotech iPe = Not Good Quality? Header Failure

It is great to hear that IPE took care of your situation! I have had the IPE F1 setup (headers, no cats) on my 2015 458 for about 3 years now and 8000 miles with no issues. It is absolutely the BEST sounding exhaust for the 458 IMO!

Fully agree. Have worked with all of them, and those two fail much more often. May be case by case, which is good for the guys that wound up problem free. Since their price margins are so lovely, they should just have an amazing customer service base to handle sweeping claims into, and getting out a replacement warranty product quickly; should be the name of that game. Hopefully we see some good out of Scooter’s issue.

What is the ongoing issue? They sent the headers to replace the cracked one.....is there more issues with the system itself, yikes.

 

From Taiwan, did it show the suburb from Taiwan ? Maybe Kaohsiung ?

 

Who’s paying for the labor or remocving the failed exhaust and installing the replacement ?

The 458 factory exhaust is robust, unlike the previous 360, 430 and early Cali exhausts which often cracked or had other issues.

My exhaust has over 92K miles with no issues.

But of course I understand that people want a different sound.

The Pista uses Inconel / titanium manifold and exhaust

To me that’s an interesting upgrade, Lighter and stronger and more heat resistant than steel.

Does anyone have any insight into this?

 

Yes, it did. From DHL - “KAOHSIUNG - RENWU - TAIWAN”.

iPE Taiwan just set expectations for a resolution on or before 5/21.

 

That's south of Taiwan where all the manufacturing is. Im there many times a year. Going to see if I can locate them. Their skills are great but as I have found out there is always some rejection amount. For example my mate buys speaker parts there. Say 1000 baskets for a speaker at $10 each but there would be about 30 rejected. But make them here in Australia all and he would only get a third of them. BUT they are great people

 

I might be wrong on this issue but in the past I have always noticed that aftermarket many times are missing the OEM anchoring points = vibrations = cracks

What are they waiting on for resolution?

Should a simple matter no? Exhaust failed. Send replacement part. Pay for labor. Where's the dispute?

Either way, I've pretty much ruled out IPE in my hunt for a Speciale exhaust...paying $10K for some stainless steel pipes and a cat should get better service than this.

 

Yes - they've essentially gone dark and the only advocate that I had is no longer affiliated with iPE. I'm concerned about whether or not this is going to end well.

 

Well the bright side of things is you got your replacement headers so you can remove the old one and put the new one on.

 

Unfortunately, there is more to that part of the story.
