I beg to differ... Someone such as yourself who understands the dynamics of a rear wheel drive F1 race car knows that when one chops in front of another car, the following car will suddenly lose down force and all of the performance that goes with it... resulting in severe under-steer, lack of front brakes, or both... There are a number of moves that drivers use to take advantage of that...alonso is one of the best at the over/under chop. He gets in front and late brakes so late that he over cooks the corner...he can recover and punch his way out, while the competitor he just chopped had the aero upset to the point of going off track. In go karts and NASCAR it's a physical bump...in F1 it's an aero bump. Different, but similar.
It's pretty amazing . . . I can hold it for a long time. I think that's why Comcast calls it "Xfinity".
This race was horrible I dont want to be entertainned or amused If I want that, I can go to Netflix or HBO or to the red light district in Amsterdan or SOHO in London or Rio de Janeiro!! I want SF to win both championships damm it! This Baku race showed us how a group of “professional drivers” can get paid teens of Millions of Euros per year and still suffer zero consequences when they screw something up like Vettel did today, and Max did today and others too In most other serious professions you committ an equivalent screw up of this magnitude and your carreer is done!! My conclusion? F1 drivers are not professional drivers. They are just kids having fun and getting overpaid. Cheers
Max obviously has not learned his lesson. He is a child and hasn't been punished for the past collisions.... what outcome do you expect? I actually predicted a collision with Daniel for this race. (To my wife... ) Max is totally at fault. There is a reason you can't double block. Daniel was carrying too much speed to adjust to it. He was fully committed. As for Vettel, ....yeah he should have been more patient and eyeballed Hamilton and kept the points lead advantage and try to get Bottas with 3 laps remaining but I think when he saw how much ground he was making on Bottas on the start ....the raceboy kicked in.
Regarding the DRS button. Why not get rid of DRS zones and let the drivers use DRS whenever they want to, up to a max # per race?
“There’s not enough on track passing” Vettel tried to pass bottas and fails, “What is Vettel doing?” Lol you guys. He saw a hole and had momentum. I’m not a professional, but i would’ve gone for it.
He had the room with Bottas....but cold tires and too much speed for the apex. We all agreed he should have waited.
We are 4 races in and should be miles ahead of the Mercs. We have one of the best packages in over a decade. We can look back at all this "coulda-woulda-shoulda" crap but I can say this so far after 4 GP's.....IT'S NOT THE CAR!!!!
I kind of like it... but I see lots of latitude for cheating. DRS will quickly become another pre-programmed theoretical that is removed from the driver.
Why not permit use of DRS where ever and when ever? Allow a movable rear wing element to be used at the driver's discretion.
LOL!!! you want a bureaucracy to give up decision making power and give it to those who actually do the job? Where is your red baseball cap?
Actually I called it before he tried to do it. I said if he tried it would be too risky. And he did try and it was too risky. So, I don't see you're point.
So gents have Renault caught up with RedBull or was this just due to the nature of the track?? Renault seem to "slip" past the RedBulls. By the way, this was Budkowski's first race appearance with Renault.
