The strong Renault form and the Budkowski appearance occurred to me as well. The FIA headquarters is in what country? Hmmmmmm.;)

What a total sh@t show. I don’t want races decided by safety cars due to people spinning out into the wall for no reason and stewards making arbitrary decisions against one but not another.

Ferrari better be very worried. How many more points do they think they can hand over to Hamilton? What a joke. Just wait. Merc will sort their car out and improve throughout the season like they always do while Ferrari will stand still...like they always do. If you can’t win now, you’re not going to win later in the season. They need to take advantage of the situation now and build a cushion in the WDC. They’ve managed to do the exact opposite.

Hulk... threw away an epic race that looked to put him back on the map.

Grojean... reminiscent of Maldonado crashing by himself coming into the pits. “I crash”. Just f-ing stupid.

Max and Ric... to me it’s simple. Max made the double move during braking like he always does. If he doesn’t do that sort crap, they both finish the race.

Overall I hate races that are decided like this. I just want a race to be won or lost on driver merit.

Had it stuck we’d be singing his praises for an amazing pass.

Completely true. But we also saw (before he tried) it was almost impossible and not worth the risk.

This is not monday morning quarterbacking. It was what we were discussing during the Safety car period.

Reminds you of another kind of racing, right. NASCAR. They are also getting the crashes, setting up the villians vs the heros. I'm bored and the cars look like shi:

Ferrari was handed a gift in 1st race, now Mercedes. I just may go back to reading about the races 3 months later in R&T.

Really biased? You want team orders after Max came out of the pits. You can't get any more biased than that. If it was any other driver you would be blaming them but because you love Max you can't see his faults (Fanbois gotta fan). Look at the other thread about Max banning, every accident he ever had you defend his position. Maybe we should call you Bias Jaski :p

Max got the advantage in the pits as Davidson explained because Ricci tyres didn't come up to temperature as quick, on the track Ricci was clearly faster but overly aggressive blocking is what caused the accident. Max was more aggressive towards his teammate, then the Reno's it seems there are behind the scenes politics here, interesting that Ricci blames himself for the accident, nothing to do with Horner/Marko talking to them before going to the stewards ;)

It wasn't even for the lead, he drives like an ass for 4th ****ing place.

+1 I agree after seeing this today. I couldn't believe the onboard telemetry being displayed and watching how these guys take corners. I incorrectly assumed they would all trail brake like Schumacher did and really anyone that actually tries to race for that matter. Instead, prior WDCs Kimi and Lewis only braked in a straight line, turned into the corner coasting (no brake or throttle), and then got on the throttle some time (~0.5s) later. Unbelievable. These guys are supposed to be good enough to trail brake and have zero lag between getting off brake and onto throttle (left foot brake like MS). Instead they coast through a corner...

I'm sure every driver out there is quite capable of trail braking if it would create any advantage in lap time. My quess it's faster to brake, get down to the highest speed the front will still stick, turn in, go.

The cars aero packages, tires and suspensions are just so much different than 6 years ago. Just a differnt driving style for the modern car. No one 4 wheel drifts, but I'm sure they all can in the right car.

Plenty of talented drivers in F1. IMO, that's not their current problem.

Doesn't it have something to do with energy recovery? Seems so wrong to even say "energy recovery"

Lift and coast might be a thing of the past when they increase fuel capacity. It saves tires too. Its just a way to preserve the car. With the aero on the front end they don't need to trail brake unless diving in on someone to take the line away.

I think you misunderstood me. Obviously the call for ''hold station'' would come well before the final pitstop, and Ricciardo should've been ahead after that. Max was on very old tyres, when Ric took Max a few laps before the pitstop he immediately ran a few seconds clear on him. During the race I was already commenting that Max should let Ricci pass as he's much faster! How is that for ''Bias Jaski"? The overcut worked for others but that was much earlier on in the race, Ric must've had traffic or a big mistake somewhere in the lap.

I'm at this point probably a bigger fan of Ricciardo than Verstappen, everyone knows I base which driver I support on the basis of ''who do I rather want to drink a beer with?". Yes I'm a Verstappen fan as well, but him being Dutch has nothing to do with it...if anything works against him! I'm not a fan of ''my people''.

They where both at fault. It's as simple as that. But the hatred here for Max means it somehow is solely his fault. It was the same when Vettel and Webber where at Red Bull, Webber could do no wrong and people here where convinced it was only his car that broke down because ''Red Bull must be messing with his car'', despite Vettel actually having more costly points lost due to car failures...

For the 'incident' with Red Bull, management might want to apologize as well. There is an element of control they must use at times. It is a 'team' sport .......
