Not THIS race, but what about the last one? And the situation could happen again if the policy is not changed.
There is obviously more team radio than what F1 is allowing on this video...... Best Of Team Radio | 2018 Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Grosjean " Nooooo Nooooo " Freaking hilarious..then walking thru his garage throws something in anger and his mechanic has to duck to avoid it . Guy is a complete moron!
F Chat should have breathalizers...if you're BAC isn't over 2.0 you aren't aloud to post on the F1 forum.
If that's the case you better ban me now since I have not had a drop of alcohol in over 25 years. Losing 4 close friends to a drunk driver kinda sobers you up real fast.
Really??? So explain again why it was 100% Ocons fault?? Every accident will always be 50/50 going by your BIASED logic
The best part was when he noticed the camera and threw his arms up at it a little before the feed cut away
Wow, what a race. I'm on Team Ricciardo in the whole Red Bull debacle. Max and the team are at fault, they had been going at it since the beginning and touched several times. Verstappen has been doing that double move too many times now. So many lost points for the team. Ferrari, SMFH, bringing in Vettel that late. Bottas, feel sorry for the guy. Elton... every race even more annoying. Checo, congrats on P3. Alonso in the points AGAIN, even after a double puncture. Word. whether you drink or not, if another driver is drunk, he can still kill you if even if you've never had a drink.
This is true but I decided that I did not want to be the driver responsible for someones death. When I would drink I could drink everyone under the table and keep going, alcohol actually gave me more energy. On top of that I found that the results of drinking still could be felt a few days afterwards in my race results. So by going sober it made me a faster motocross and jet-ski racer. Do I miss drinking?? Not one single bit..
I don’t think so, all his messages leading up to it were moans about the car, the track, the wind etc, I really think he had had enough, and figured full points for third would be as far as he was going to get. He couldn’t foresee Vettel making a mistake on the restart (which in my opinion was forced by his own nervousness of being stuck behind bottles potentially under a team order with elton dancing about within DRS, hence he panicked a bit worried he’d be third behind a merc one two) nor a puncture for bottles.
Or a movable absorption platform attached to the cranes themselves that would be weighted to drop on the pavement while on track, to avoid a de Villota style accident. Sadly, believe the fatality in Montreal occurred after the race. Iirc, the marshal was crushed because he noticed his cellphone had dropped in the path of the lifter and attempted to save it from the crane wheels.
I never understand the dislike and name calling of Hamilton here. Yes he lucked into this one, but last year he lost through bad luck as he did earlier this year. The Mercedes are reliable, but he's now got the most ever consecutive points finished at 29, he just always brings the thing home. No doubt that this year, like last year the Ferrari is the faster car, but Hamilton is leading through consistency more than pace this year. It's time the other drivers quietly took Mad Max out behind the bike sheds and explained proper conduct too him. He's way over due to be sat out of a race or two like happened to Grosjean in 2012. I don't see it noted here, but Hamilton was late to the podium as he went straight to find Bottas to commiserate and let him know it was his race really, but it's against the rules to say nice things about LCH I think. I really really hope we see Danny Ric and LCH at Ferrari in the future. Danny deserves a top flight car and I really want to see LCH win WDC's with three teams. Only Fangio and Stewart have done or bettered that I think. That and I think there would be a mass outbreak of exploding heads here.
One more thing for those watching Sky or ESPN. I don't know why Martin Brundle wasn't commentating, but I really really liked Paul Di Resta's insight. Having had such recent F1 experience he had a really good read of the race and what was happening. I really enjoyed him much more than I thought I would. His sour character as a driver didn't come through. Instead I found he spotted and highlighted things I or others didn't/wouldn't/couldn't identify. I think he was a massive add to the commentary team and I really like Brundle so it's not just dissing the regular guy.
Agreed. He does a great job commentating and I learned a few things listening to his analysis. Great race to watch. Too bad for Ferrari, but hopefully we can keep the pace advantage going into Europe.
Let it go Tony. **** off calling it biased. I'm a huge fan of danni ric as you well know. Take your own blinders off ffs. You do realize you're pretty much the only one calling it 100% max and zero % ric right?
Can't edit my post now just to add I have no beef with you, Quit calling me biased on any hand picked max issue whilst you can't look past your own Max hatred. This is pathetic, really.
The only blame I put on Ricciardo is that for his move to work, he had to assume that Max wouldn’t be Max...very unrealistic. If Max had been anybody else (okay, except maybe Ocon apparently...), DR would have made the move stick. So yeah, almost everyone assigns some blame to DR...he expected better from Max when he had absolutely no reason to.
Verstappen's squeeze in the braking zone (which is allowed I may add) is allowed, so long you leave a cars width (which he did). The squeeze alone caught Ricciardo out, as he thought Max was going to close the gap all the way. Max's 2nd move didn't matter, the crash was already going to happen. Had ric stuck with the line, no accident would've happened. The ''weaving'' on the straight was pretty marginal and normal, not excessive weaving and the same anyone does. As far as I know the ''weaving'' is not part of a move in the braking zone. I blame Max for being overly aggressive in the braking zone. Have done since Sunday (so not sure where all this ''BIAS'' comes from anyways Tony?). But Ricciardo shares blame for his part, expecting Verstappen ''to do bad''. To anyone accusing me of being biased, look early on in the thread and see my posts RE Verstappen and me begging for him to let his faster teammate past. Biased eh? People only see what they want to see here. Getting tired.
Should be a rider in the signing contract, $5 m out of your pay any time your driving affects a teammate’s results. Otherwise the subsequent threats from the team are lip service.
