Today I was contacted by UK-based Abi K who has been the owner of JLA12256 the ex-Rod Stewart Countach Downdraft for years. Abi says "the Countach as above is now undergoing a full restoration back to it's original former glory to the time that Nick Asher collected it from the Factory and then was sold on to the Legend himself Sir Rod Stewart ... the car is still in it's original paint of Bianco Polo Park with Blue leather and white piping. However now carries the rear wing from when I purchased it many years ago" Abi goes on to state that the car will never be sold but will be left to his family along with the rest of his collection. I knew first owner Nick Asher so I saw the car the day he arrived in London with it on EE plates and covered in bug spatter having driven directly to the UK from from the factory in Italy (@ not inconsiderable speed) where he collected it himself. I also remember that Nick only sold it to Rod Stewart because his 25th Anniversary had arrived. I saw Rod driving the car at least once on London's North Circular Rd. I never cease to be amazed that 30-plus years later these cars are thriving and a being cared for with a view to being appreciated by future generations Image Unavailable, Please Login
What does Abi's daughter think about Rod Stewart's old Countach JLA12256? As he would say - Every Picture Tells A Story Image Unavailable, Please Login

Kind of addicted to this thread as it's most intriguing to read about one of the most Iconic Supercars Created. Supercar Driven By A Superstar Image Unavailable, Please Login
That image of Rod Stewart and JLA12256 was taken @ the Theydon Oak Pub, in Epping, in Essex. I would love to personally interview Rod Stewart about his love for Lamborghinis which started in the late 60s and I hope the opportunity arises, he is one of just a few people I know who has owned the full Countach range: Periscopa, LP500S, Downdraft, 25th Annivesario. I'd like to speak with him about his Miuras also, P400, P400S and a couple of SVs Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's somewhat apparent that Sir Roderick has fantastic taste in many things especially the Raging Bull. And Mr Sackey I would certainly say the same about yourself. Thanks for a fantastic thread..
That’s my photo! Diablo was J993CYR in grey. One of the first batch in the UK. J991CYR was the first UK Diablo, red, new to ..... Rod Stewart. (How topical!) and recently appearing in a UK Auction.
Fantastic news - in the Pirelli P7 tread Harry posted these images of the actual new tires being tested. Again, thank you for doing the testing Harry, and I must say the P7s look so right on a Countach. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
