Too funny, they showed all the non believers. I didn't have high expectations but I didn't think they would be bad either
If we're honest, the Sharks should have been up 3-0 after the first. The posts were our MVPs last night. Jokes aside, Fleury really is playing some incredible hockey. All year the team has said they're playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulders. I feel like that comes through in Fleury's interviews. He seems to like to shut people up. I said before the season that if they end with a .500 record in their first year, that's successful, and that's about where I thought they'd end up. Boy, they sure proved everyone wrong.
I won't disagree with you but I saw a condensed game version last night. If you look at the first period, the Golden Knights actually had their share of great opportunities in the first AND a goal that was called back because the ref blew the whistle. No one complained as it was the correct call -- but it was that close. You need a little luck in any sport. But they won this series not off of luck but from skill. That's why they have a 7 game series -- it all averages out. Think about this.... the Sharks won Game 2 because of an OT goal that was overturned. There have been MANY non-calls of worse infractions this playoff season. Its a judgement call someone has to make. I don't disagree with the call but it shows that the VGK are really that good. Game 2 could have easily been another victory. And both teams had their share of goal post hits this series.
Down go the Penguins! Shocking!!!! I really thought they would go to game 7. Murray gave up one bad goal and the last was questionable. Pretty poor defense in the OT sank them though.
Washington won but my feeling was that the Penguins where actually a better team. But, all that matters now is Washington won.
Selfishly, I am rooting for the Preds just so both teams have to play another game while Vegas rests.
It's not even that they're stacked. They just have four lines that work really well together. That, plus they work their asses off and never quit. They're such a fun team to watch.
No hockey tomorrow (Tues evening) so I am enjoying this one. Preds 4-0 with 2 and change minutes left...
The Jets never got off the ground. It's like they gave up in the 3rd period. Going to be a great game 7 on Thursday Most likely the first game with the winner and VGK will be on Saturday. I'm going to try to get tix if at home.
I believe Vegas no longer has home ice advantage, so the first two games will be in Nashville or Winnipeg. I was just telling Jen we should see where the official watch party will be, and see if we can go.
Nashville is mental right now. My afternoon bike ride goes around the Titan's stadium where everyone parks to go to the Bridgestone arena and I've had to cut that section out of my route because of the amount of traffic. Downtown at night is so packed on game nights now. Great for Nashville!
