Any pictures of other people’s ugly parts are definitely helping with the moral support.

The issue that started this project was a cylinder was dropping out due to a bad spark plug. I ordered plugs and spark plugs to start with and decided to go ahead with the major. At this point I’m being as thorough as possible and am hoping to be trouble free for quite a while going forward.

I read through your list and nothing is really a surprise for a major engine out service. I have seen all of them changed (may be not all in one car but they do go out). In addition, I have seen headers, cat converters, TCUs, tires, bumper painted, wheels painted, and injectors serviced. It really depends on how neglected and how many miles.

Where did you source your oil hoses?

The oil hoses are tough. We are using Mercedes-Benz hoses that are the correct size and appearance. My mechanic happened to have some for another car he was working on and they matched.
All other hoses were sourced from Ricambi and Superformance.

    It’s a fantastic day !
Leakdown testing shows my engine is like a new car ! Most likely because of my fantastically aggressive driving style. No chance for deposit build up.

Skipp - try the LD at 40 PSI input and see what you get (if you are curious). Love the Speciale! :)

Less PSI is less force on the valves which could close them more that the valve springs. I think I did the calculation at one point but can't recall for certain. JohnK wrote a fantastic document on the subject. See attached.
