Hello Everyone! Hope everyone has been doing well! Anyway, this winter I foolishly let my 360's battery go flat. I did not jump it,but instead put a new battery in it. The car will now crank but not start. It appears as if some security measure is stopping it from getting fuel or spark. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Some folks will come along and offer ideas...in the meantime, do try the "search" function a lot in this forum. This type of thing has happened many times before and thus there is a lot of information here...
Did you try locking and unlocking with the key fob. I know when my alarm does something wacky that tends to help. I'm guessing you don't get a pump run when you open the drivers door.
The search function was great for what to do when my battery went dead, but hasnt been much help with the new issue, unfortunately.
I have tried that plenty and have also changed the fob battery. The issue seems to be immobilizer related,so i think you’re on the right track.
I have read that you need to turn the key on for at least 60 seconds before trying to start. I think you will need to do a re-learn process after starting. Re-learn procedure: https://aldousvoice.com/2013/01/16/ferrari-360-ecu-reset/ Hope this helps. Dave
Hey Joe. I hope you can get this sorted out. There is a battery kill switch in the trunk, so the car is designed to have the battery cut out and then turned back on, and to start when that happens. So, unless there is something different with letting a battery go flat from cutting the battery out entirely (and their might be), it sounds like a different issue to me. There is also a separate battery for the immobilizer that is in the alarm siren unit. You can find threads here where people have successfully replaced just that battery. I began to have odd issues with the immobilizer and I just replaced the whole siren unit -- that fixed all the odd problems I was having. Can you hear a loud, strong beep (or two beeps) when you hit the key fob button? If not, then it that may suggest the problem is in the immobilizer battery. When I replaced my siren (and battery) the beeps when I hit the key fob button got much louder, so that may be one way to judge the strength of the immobilizer battery. Good luck! It sounds frustrating.
Sorry for the late response, anyway the car has finally started. We gave up diagnosing everything and had actually made arrangements for the car to go to MD to be fixed. The trailer pulls up to take it and IT STARTS OUT OF NOWHERE. So I can not verify what the issue was. The only issue now is that an Airbag light has come on.
Good news. It sounds like the low voltage put the system in an indeterminant state. Power cycling the system probably cleared it. BUT I believe you will need an SD to clear the airbag light.
