Just as a matter of interest, how do they find out what the people who die in their beds were thinking at the time and whether or not they had a plan or panicked and were listening to their smoke detectors? Curious minds want to know.
It's supposition, I guess, but probably from an educated standpoint. There has been research into such things. It's why the Motorcycle Safety Foundation teaches you S.I.P.D.E., for example. It's also why they train first responders in simulated events, it gives the mind a group of "plans" it can pull from.
Well you see, that's where you're coming undone. Too much supposition and not enough facts. You make statements like they're facts, when they're not at all. That's where we're all getting our ammunition from (LOL) because you're making up stuff as you go and it's blatantly obvious.
No, in this case said information came from a fire safety briefing regarding the importance of having a plan in place in case your house is ever on fire. I'm not making anything up--I might rely on memory--but I am not making anything up.
Supposition by behavioral scientists. The only supposition on my part is that I readily admit I don't know what they were thinking... And now that I think about it, what they were thinking wasn't part of the point. They were sitting upright in their beds, with their smoke detectors going off. That's fact. In many cases, they were in first floor rooms with windows next to their beds, yet they just sat there until the smoke overcame them. Why is what they were thinking even part of this? I can't believe I fell for your twisting of the story.
The zombies are about to hit. I'm building a bunker when I get home https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/technology/science/killer-virus-nipah-outbreak-in-india-has-people-panicked-authorities-scrambling-to-halt-spread/news-story/7c53f789c79f038212a937bb276408e7
Just about finished mine but I ran out of fuel in the bobcat......Lost interest now as I have fired up the Barbie......It's all about priorities......
Yeah, sure... While this doesn't say exactly what I was saying (I was repeating information I heard years ago), it does give similar reasoning as to why considering and practicing what you should do in panic situations is important. http://www.apa.org/monitor/sep04/fighting.aspx
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login You wouldn't want an invite JM......the Barbie is the dream and this HOS is the reality......Pressure bled the whole system again, another booster and master cylinder and the brake pedal still goes just about to the floor.....even tried to isolate the calipers with hose clamps.....I give up!!!!!

Premeditated murder I agree with you; biggest problem in Aus would be domestic violence, or kids getting carried away, not premeditated murder. Not to mention the risks of gangs as per US and elsewhwere. That's where our gun laws save many lives; a bit ironic since yes the Tas nutter would have found an alternative no doubt. Would he have achieved such a high mortality rate without the auto gun?
Bill, please just keep out of here until you have FACTS - not supposition, assumption, memory or other crap. Note all Aussie posters here have posted Verifiable FACTS. Hey mods, why isn't posting bull poo a bannable offence? I'm sick to death of people like this posting their 'opinion' as though it has some basis in reality.
