LDoc... that looks awesome. Did you wipe down after Griot or just let it "dry"?

I wiped down on the main part of the engine that you see. I did it twice and used a little bit extra spray each time. I did wipe this part of the engine. I also covered the shiny metal plate with carpenter tape.

The rubber tubes and fan on the lid I let dry.
If you let it dry you get a shiny finish.
If you wipe down you get a Matte finish

Wow! That looks better than showroom condition!

    Great job!

Yes, on Griots Garage engine bay dressing if you want a little shine just spray and leave it alone.
If you want "satin" shine immediately wipe down with microfiber cloth after spraying.

Your first engine bay cleaning may take 2 cans or run the process twice to make everything super clean.
No problem, 3 bucks a can and there is really nothing involved except just spray it on and let it sit for 10 minutes then rinse.

Now we can clean our engine bay 2 to 3 times a year and make it always stay showroom condition.

Pop your hood open anytime and watch people admire!

Thanks for sharing photos. It looks amazing!

    Thanks Dan.

The scrubbing bubbles work very well. Yes I used the scrubbing bubbles 2 times on different days while I was waiting for Amazon to send me the Griots’. The engine was not too dirty but now it’s amazing. I already showed it to a neighbor who was walking his dog. He going to try it on his multiple Saabs that he restores.
    Thanks again Dan

btw I will give you a call soon to talk about my potential first Ferrari.

Did a 2nd application of Scrubbing Bubbles to my engine yesterday and this time I also applied Griots Garage Engine Bay Dressing.

Photo below, and a short 1 minute video I posted on YouTube.

    Enjoy!

I've not used scrubbing bubbles yet. Thanks for the tip. I use S100 but its good to have a back up if out of stock.

We also used lemon pledge bitd, as a dressing.

Hi Dan. I just finished Scrubbing Bubbles and Griots Engine Bay Dressing on the Bimmer. Red Hot is going in this week for belts so I'll wait until that's completed before the engine clean. Here's before and after photos. Thanks for the tip!

One of the best engine compartment dressings I have found is Sonus Trim and Motor Kote. After cleaning your engine, you can spray this on and you leave it sit. It will enhance the color of the manifold and provide a rich (not glossy) black finish to the hoses. I used this on my 430 and can't say enough about it.

Finally able to do this and I would avoid carbon fiber panels. Besides looking clean, I was hit with low oil pressure (red circle comes on at idle) and manettino fault. The car drove fine a few hours after my wash. I always had the manettino problem and thought I finally fixed it after replacing, cleaning, and troubleshooting with Robert at Roselli for several months. Do you think water might've damaged the oil sender unit?

I would guess water got into the oil sending unit connector.

I experience similar issue, then it went away after I cleaned the oil sending unit connector with electrical contact cleaner.

    What is mannetino?

Dan the Manettino is the name of the switch on the steering wheel for driving mode changes.

I tried the Scrubbing Bubbles today and I definitely like the results but I should have maybe left in on a little longer or sprayed more on my intake runs as there is still some white residue on them but definitely a lot less of it. I will probably do it again tomorrow and then also spay the Girots Engine Dressing too.
I also did it to my old Mustang while I was at it...the engine is very clean but it won’t start now so something got wet and will either dry on its own overnight or I will start taking connectors apart tomorrow to dry them out.

sounds like a few issues happened because of the engine cleaning.... :( I will hold off from trying for now, but those clean engines look great.

I tried the scrubbing bubbles last weekend, worked and no faults but want to do once more before I apply the Griots dressing and post pics.

No fear boca, the manettino is a problem I've had already, it may or may not be related to the wash. And as Dan stated, he cleaned his connector and all was good to go. I will do the same before ordering a new part. Other than that, I am still driving fine.
