Fell in love the moment I saw it. If it were me the only thing I'd change is the roof styling. Seems like the roof is too high. Needs to look more aerodynamic.

The design makes a lot more sense in reading that it is meant as a tribute to the F40.

Yes, but only because we know there's an F12berlinetta that is soooo much better looking. If the F12 had never existed, I'd have to take the 812 over this trashy exercise. But then again, these "one off" specials are rarely appealing. They look like the patched-up Frankenstein monsters they are. This is especially disappointing coming after the very nice Pista.

Nice, but do NOT like the engine lid.

Uncomfortable to drive without any view imo.

    How does it open ?

Personally I don’t like it. Luckily won’t have to see it.

Looks like the engine lid is one giant single piece of bodywork that you have to open up in reverse clamshell style.

Like it or loathe it. It does represent a great maturing in Mr. Manzoni design work. Great artist work must be both loved AND hated. Well done.

I think covering up the engine bay is the right direction for these turbo V8s as there's nothing to see there (from any vendor) but plastic and hoses these days. Just wouldn't use that design of the lid but better to make all look more like the Spider versions with a rear sight glass for driving. Other than that this car is quite the mash up that I hope the new owner is pleased with.

    ABSOLUTELY NOT.
    Wrong person.
There is more than one female with a major Ferrari collection in Switzerland.

Looks good to me. It’s not a production car so you have to judge it as such - a bespoke car like this will have an unfamiliar feel simply because of what lines are possible with single unit production and great expense. When I read about the F40 I was surprised but then I looked back at the car and totally understood. It’s not supposed to be milder-mannered like a production car, it is something like a bespoke design study and needs to stand out and provoke strong opinion. Aren’t they better being interesting and significant rather than universally regarded as beautiful? Looks like a successful SP to me and much better than something like the Sergio.

Comparisons with Lotuses and Lamborghini’s? Pur-lease.

Still think if it lost the Nissan GTR35 roof, Huracan rear louver and cleared the Pista out of its mouth it may have worked out better, A set of Ferrari headlights also wouldn't have gone astray.
The way it looks now I’m left to wonder is the Ferrari badge creating generosity.

Still way better than the 488, I wouldn't mind this being the next gen V8 or influencing it.

Front, windshield, roof clearly insipired on the 308/288. The only thing F40 are the rear cover shutlines (as they mention, actually). The hint at the F40 wing is a stretch.

I never liked the 488, as a failed forced redesign of the great, almost perfect 458, this is my opinion.

I know many would disagree, that's perfectly fine.

I like this SP38, find it very nice overall. My opinion, once again.
