+1 I don't have a problem with Lewis fans (or Alonso fans back in the day). It's the blind hero-worshipers who only come out to play when Lewis is winning, manipulating statistics/facts only to suit their own argument at every opportunity. How long did we all have to deal with the uber troll, Toil? More than 2 years. I have friends who are Hamilton fans, I take the piss out of them, the same way they took the piss out of me for being a Vettel fan and now Verstappen fan. If anyone can't take the Elton piss takes, or is offended by some of the rumours that surround him (even the one he has a super injunction for), mute the people that take the piss often (myself included). It really is quite simple.
To that, I would reply there are equally many people on this site ready to blindly worship anything Ferrari related, and ready to deliberately try to tarnish the achievements that are not related to the Scuderia, its drivers, etc... I watched that over the years, and I have been on Ferrarichat since 2006. Some participants are just trying to a redress the balance and give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar by stating facts unpalatable to die-hard Ferrari fans. The fact is that there hasn't been a Ferrari WDC since 2007, but 4 WDCs won with a Red Bull and 4 more on Mercedes. Even today's Ferrari's lead driver won his 4 titles, ON ANOTHER CAR ! That should be acknowledged and respected, instead of making silly attempts to denigrate the results of a repeated WDC by making character assassination, some of which is borderline, IMO. Do I need to explain? If they think it's good fun, that says a lot more about them, than about the recipient of their vitriolic comments. I know this is a Ferrari site, but a bit of objectivity and fair play when examining the sport that bring us together (??) wouldn't come amiss.
I hope so..... he was always the sort of **** that if h3 can’t win, takes his ball home with him.. don’t let the door hit you on the ass on the way out elton
Why? You are hardly a shining example of fair play and bias, are you William. Don’t like the thread, don’t read it. Simple
If it was contained on this thread only, I agree with you it would be easy to avoid having to read the puerile nonsense spewed about Hamilton. Some of it is close to hate speech, in my book, but that is another matter for the moderators to ponder, I guess. . You and some people maliciously infect almost any thread with irrelevant diatribes against Lewis Hamilton, even when completely out of context, just for the fun of antagonising other participants who do not share your opinions. You are just spoiling what is otherwise, a very interesting forum.
We should learn from history... But, the reality is that the Hammy crowd has been very well behaved recently. Some of the rest have been acting like children.
They were silent while Lewis was not leading the WDC and barely beat Bottas. But after having luck and the Mercedes back on track they reappeared .. has absolutely nothing to do with "behaviour", more with lack of opportunities as Lewis did not do that great at the beginning of the season. I stand by exactly what I said...the vitriol has been very one sided and quite childish. I can’t believe some participants are actually adults. It is sort of like Max...the FIA has allowed his behavior to become a culture...same with Fchat. It is what it is...but some are claiming a moral high ground when they’re really knee deep in the swampy valley.
Yes... some people joined a marque forum several times (because of being banned in the past) with the sole purpose to praise a driver of another team with ZERO posts about any other subject....now that sounds very mature to me [emoji41] And then they complain when long time members take up the challenge and reply in the same single sided way. Again : yeah right Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
If people don’t like to argue about something, they shouldn’t be trying to ram their ridiculous statements down our throats. I don’t go to the Mercedes forums banging on about ferraris, or Vettel, as they would rightly ban me. Why are Elton’s fans so interested in trying to force their opinions on everyone else. If I say I think he’s a prick, then I’m entitled to say that.... why we have to then have six pages of ******** made up nonsense about how he was upset as a child when the bullies called him names, how his dad worked two jobs, how he was so underprivileged he had cornflakes for Christmas dinner etc..... who cares? On a ferrari forum, very very very few
Takes two to tango William. If anyone says a single thing about elton, the antagonism starts. Even if you said ‘he’s fast, but not as fast as senna’ the heavens open and a certain few spew all sorts of crap. Put me on ignore if you like, I don’t care, but I don’t see why I or anyone else should simply listen to their ******** about our teams nemesis without the opportunity to respond. If they want to keep raising the stakes, then that’s what happens. I’d say that coming to a ferrari forum to wax lyrical about Mercedes and their drivers was trolling.... but hey, what do I know?
You are not permitted to raise the stakes yourself and to keep inflaming the situation to make it worse for everyone. You're not going to make it so intolerable that Mercedes/Hamilton fans leave, all you're going to accomplish is to bring more trolls here and make it so intolerable that longtime FerrariChat members don't frequent our F1 forum any more. daytona355 has been banned for 1-month for trolling in the F1 forum: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/worst-current-driver.575908/page-16#post-146004597 All the best, Andrew.
Sorry but I do not see any tolerance on the "pro-Hamilton" side when someone says he is not the greatest... then you are told to be too stupid to see the "facts" and numbers. Being intolerant but asking for tolerance on the other side is double standard but nothing has been done about it....and nothing has been done about an obviously hacked account that did not post for years especially at the F1 section and all of the sudden several times a day about a single driver sounding very much like a banned user with the same attitude and "facts"... "Us", like people who follow F1 and participate on this forum. As far as I know, Ferrari ownership isn't a pre-requisite condition to post on Ferrarichat . Also the moderator has made it clear in the past, that anyone could participate on this forum.
Everybody can, as long as he is not trolling. But what would you call joining a marque forum to simply promote another driver from another brand? You might call it freedom of speech, I would call it trolling! Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
I don't believe I am trolling, but that is for the moderator to decide. We are on this forum to discuss F1 at large, and not only Ferrari. That's why I joined back in 2006, when Hamilton wasn't even on the horizon ! It would be difficult to follow a season without mentioning other teams and drivers, who wins races, who's leading in the championship, don't you think? I have also see Ferrari fans criticising the Scuderia here, so I think you are very touchy about the subject. I don't insult Ferrari, or its drivers. I don't make innuendoes about their lifestyle, their personality, and I don't slate people who support Ferrari either. . Also, it may surprise you to learn that I don't count myself as a Hamilton fan, I just find some baseless attacks against his personality to discredit his achievements quite unjustified. But I understand that Mercedes and Hamilton have been a thorn on the side of Ferrari from the beginning of the hybrid formula and prevented the Scuderia from renewing with success, and that may explain the excessive temper from some Ferrari supporters.
Again this "we" stuff. Active posters are primarliy drawn to this forum ( aptly called Ferraichat) to discuss their shared interest in matters related to Ferrari; wether that be the cars, technical matters, events, Ferrari racing, ownership experiences, history, models. It's not a level playing field, it's Ferrari focused through and through.
