If Max does not make a clear change after this, Im not sure what to think. Canada has to be a nice clean and polished race for him.

 

The race was decided during qualifs, with no overtaking among the leaders who finished in grid order.

But this is Monaco, with its outdated circuit, and bringing up same issues every year.

 

Fair play to Prince Albert and Princess Charlene for joining in with the drinking of the champagne! (not sure Princess Charlene really took a swig though)

 

The start can offer some variance as well...

 

At least Ricci didn't ask the princess to drink from his shoe...

TBF, Max raced well today and at least did some overtaking.

 

Hopefully this gross "shoe drinking" tradition is over....

Horner probably had a pre-race counseling session with him about that.

Well deserved victory by Ric. In the same situation, Mad Max probably would overcooked it at some point and crashed out.

And at least Seb stayed ahead of Elton.

 

I totally understand, I think it's pretty funny

 

Because he's not wearing shorts, he's wearing one piece fireproof underwear (shorts as well would add too much weight! - Red Bull need all the help they can get! )

 

Cars are the problem, not the track.
Monaco is a glorious anachronism...I'd take a boring Monaco over a Tilke playmat circuit DRS overtake fest any day of the week.

 

Absolutely and another clean race would be solid for him and the team.

As regards the top guns, the undercuts didn't work, so it was always going to be to risky trying diving overtake maneuvers, better looking at the bigger picture...boring for us but that's the nature of that track.

 

Wow! - Grandpa looks really happy there! (you would have thought he would have worn some trousers instead of jeans for Monaco though! )

 

This season has offered good racing at the Tilke circuits. Its as much aero for the cars in terms of passing capability.

 

So, if one ever wondered what's more important at Monaco - Peak engine power or better tire management, now we know. Tires rule . . . . of course, brilliant Adrian Newey engineered mechanical grip helps as well.

No we're off to a circuit where both peak engine power and brakes rule. Bring on Canada!

 

It looks as if Adrian is managing to both drink and hold his nose at the same time.

 

The point is that NONE of them have the character and panache of Monaco.
