I'm reading so many responses about how limited milage most F-cars get, it made me wonder why? The FF and GTC4 Lusso might somewhat be an exception, as well as, obviously, collector cars. I drive my F12 as much as I can as I want to enjoy the experience, not to just look at it in the garage. My current average is 10-11'000 a year and love it! Would do even more when time/weather permits it. My F12 is for me to enjoy and I don't keep it for a future generation (like Patek's advert). So why do F-enthusiasts limit the miles made?

I can share a couple of perspectives. I used to drive my 458 and then my F12 daily (I own them individually), including errands and commuting. I found that reducing the more mundane drives help with heightened enjoyment when I go for early morning drives (currently have a 488 GTB). In addition, if you are splitting the fun miles between multiple cars, it reduces the mileage significantly. When I finally get my hands on a Porsche 991.2 GT3, I might not even get to drive the Ferrari every weekend.

OK, understand, but in your case it is not limiting the miles, it is spreading them over several cars. My 'normal' daily drive is done with a Maserati Ghibli Q4, with which I am very happy as to its usability and performance, but the big fun factor comes in when I drive my F12 :) I only let it 'rest from December until, let's say mid March (depending on how the winter plays out). Living in CH, originally Dutch, it means that my F12 makes at least twice a year a drive to the motherland, my bride being from the UK, I'll ad a trip to the UK, so it will do it's miles :)

My guess is more of us stretched a bit to buy the car in the 1st place than should have and thus the concern about value of depreciating assets.

I believe that is the case with many but we can't take 'it' with us in an 'afterlive' :(

I don't want the attention that comes w/ driving a Ferrari that often.

Understandable ... I don't mind. Actually appreciate when people think it is a beautiful car.

I normally drive my F12 once or twice a week but there have been times, due to rain and roads being wet and dangerous or simply because I was away, when I didn’t drive the car for at least one month. After these longer periods of “abstinence” when after I went for a ride invariably I felt the experience was more evolving than normally and closer to that first time I got behind the wheel , pressed the starter button and went off with the F12.

I’ve driven 7 000 Km in one year but to be honest what really matter to me isn’t the quantity of miles done but always the quality of each ride. I really enjoy taking the F12 on a long journey and normally I start on a motorway, where all the aerodynamic features can be sensed and put to good use at high speed. Then when I’m off the motorway and on the countryside roads everything changes and is really a great feeling seeing how the F12 negotiates the sections with curves using the precision of it's steering, the manual gear-shifts and that instantaneously responsive accelerator. The experience is always enhanced because all that happens while the majestic V12 sings in it's different tones. To conclude I would like to say that I have absolutely nothing against other owners who daily drive their Ferraris or do a lot of mileage per year because if they are able to do it that's great. As far as I’m concerned I’ve been able to have an enormous satisfaction with my V12 Ferrari even knowing that the number of miles I've done in one year is quite limited.

Thanks Mario, you wrote it perfectly. It actually is as I feel it too, even though I make somewhat more miles (or kilometers for that sake as it is to share some with my closest family). Bad weather also to me is no risk and, like you, my agenda has to permit it. The key word to me is 'enjoy'!

Having gotten hit once last year, the possibility of hail storm is the only thing during warmer months that would prevent me from going for a drive. Unfortunately, the possibility of hail storm is frequent near where I live.

If you live in a city and/or have kids, it's a bit hard to find the right occassion to enjoy the car fully. I drive my F12 in the summer maybe once or twice a week to the office, which is a bit silly in central Moscow with speed limit of 60 km/h, and then on the weekends it's usually a full family (plus a dog) trip to our dacha, for which I usually try to use my 991 GTS as the kids (and the dog) still fit in the rear seats - otherwise you have to make a special effort to drive away from the family in the F12 - which happens maybe a couple of times over the summer season when I drive with my wife to visit friends or go to a race track.

It's a pity, really, because life goes by so fast and the times when you hit 250 km/h+ on the freeway in a V12 Ferrari have been one of the best in my life...
