Independence has a price. They are paying it now. I see nothing in the press or hear nothing from those I know about any sale or arrangement in the near future.

    Report people?
Been there, done that and guess what: exactly nothing happened...so why do you repeatingly advise us to do so?

Having a different opinion about Ferrari? Sure, why not...but joining a Ferrari-forum with the sole purpose to proclaim this in an obtrusive way? Well if that is the only way to get any attention maybe fchat should be listed as pastoral care website instead of a car related site with a marque name in the title

Who peed in your cherrios, or maybe muesli? You have nothing but negative comments about moderating here.

If you're consistently not getting the results you want, maybe your perspective needs adjusting.

However, just so you know. None of the reports we get are dismissed without a good hearty examination of the issue, often with discussion between moderators.

Enough said , and I assume you mean in "Vain" :D

    BTW
Vulgarity is no substitute for wit..

It demonstrates a limited vocabulary, and it seems to me those that hate Hamilton, seem to have a considerable problem expressing themselves.without it.

Well based on the current season points, Lance has the lowest points of any driver that finished all races. There are other drivers with less points, but they had retirements that were not entirely their fault...

It gets better every minute....this single sided generalization is "liked" by the very same moderator who refused to ban a member after calling others racists and even idiots. And I "need to adjust my perspective"....absolöutely incredible

I/we could go on .....of that I'am sure, however in the interests of the F1 forum I feel better to not get into discussions about the worst moderator, but as the thread title suggests the worst F1 driver, if you know what I mean. :)

I approve of the notion that vulgarity is the language of the lazy. If you can't find a way to say it, generally, without smacking up against the profanity filter, you're not trying hard enough.

as to the rest, best to buy a big box of cheerios, you're going to need them.

It's not really all that big a deal. It seems to me that we have an exuberant group here who love their teams, and hate the opposition, whoever that may be. Given that, emotions run hot. It's manageable, just like herding cats. :D

your mockery of the forum members is a disgrace. You picked the wrong one here, a member having earned high respect here and repeatedly standing against the lunacy of others with reason where the rest of the board already went to the next pub to drown their pains.
The chaos here is what you created or rather permit to exist. This forum was a most excellent place before it was permitted to be derailed by a couple of odd people. The blame is on your door step.

The F1 forum on FChat has always had fans across multiple teams, with the majority of contributors supporting Ferrari. Guys like Fast_ian were passionate fans of Ferrari, but appreciated multiple other teams, and enjoyed F1 as a whole. Sadly, that well-rounded kind of contribution is not tolerated in today's F1 forum.

What we have seen recently is a select few ardent Ferrari fans that have decided amongst themselves that any viewpoint other than wholehearted support of the Scuderia is offensive to their delicate sensibilities and that they'll drive the contributors of those viewpoints off the forum with ungentlemanly conduct. You're right about some of the blame being at the doorstep of moderators - I accept blame as an attending moderator for the leniency that failed to reign in the misbehavior of those I thought I could reason with and therefore I permitted this chaos to exist.

I shall endeavor to remedy the situation.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Sorry, but that is plain wrong!!!
Why are you moderators always saying that the Ferrari fans want to drive other opinions off this board as if the "Ferrari fans" started this? It is simply not true....It went out of hand when people like toil, tesla and a few others entered this forum solely to promote another driver and to stir the pot and you moderators looked away too long until it was too late. Here are many Ferrari fans who constantly write against Ferrari because they are dissapointed in them for the last years and nobody wants to "drive them away".
You moderators dealt with the situation exactly as politiciens do: first you do nothing and play political correctness and hope it goes away and all of the sudden you realize that all went south and then you react in panic...I do not say that I could do better (so do not get me wrong) but when a football game becomes unfair and foul it is rarely the mistake of the players but most of the time the one of the referees as they waited too long to take measures until it slipped out of their hand.

Even after toil and tesla were removed, many of the Hamilton detractors remained on the war path. The rules are clear cut, applied as equally as possible, and still every time a Ferrari fan gets moderated or a Mercedes fan gets a quiet word instead of a ban the Hamilton detractors cry foul. Even in the recent case, the ban was incurred through an incident that a great deal of effort from multiple moderators sought to avoid through behind the scenes influence - sadly, to no avail.

Your assessment of the situation is biased to say the least. Try to take a more dispassionate view of the actual content on here in the context of a neutral F1 forum (which is the official site position, it is not a Ferrari-only fan zone), both tone and volume from a very vocal minority of vehement Hamilton detractors haven't made a good impression. One instigator is serving a ban for trolling, it remains to be seen whether the others heed that as a prompt to change their own tone. Expressing outrage that a Ferrari fan was banned from a Ferrari site isn't going to get you anywhere - people bring bans on themselves, much to the consternation of the moderators.

George is absolutely correct: we're missing sportsmanship.

    All the best,
    Andrew.
